The day had come. My father was being buried in the Mystic Hills cemetery later today. Cameron had offered to organise the ceremony. I accepted his offer as I didn't want to be rude and to be honest, I couldn't deal with the stress of organising my own fathers funeral. Cameron, with the help of Isaac, Mollie and Jasmine had everything under control. I was told little details of the funeral but I had told them not to include me. I had to focus on the prophecy and as selfish as it sounds, that was the best option for me.
I turned on the bathroom light and as usual, I looked at my reflection. Observing the man looking back at me I noticed a change in his appearance. What was once a rough and untamed beard became a clean cut. My chiselled features complimented my freshly cut facial hair. I was wearing a black and white tux. The white shirt was tucked in and tight to my body. It made bending down and stretching more difficult. The blazer I wore was black and matched the colour of my usual leather jacket. In one of the pockets was a grey silk handkerchief that was more for looks than use. I didn't have a tie or bowtie as I preferred the simple suit. My bottoms were the same black and fit comfortably. My Burberry leather shoes were one of the more expensive parts of my attire.
Exiting the bathroom I noticed an envelope and a small black box with a ribbon on the top. A gift? Opening the card I read...
To Harry, I left early so I could help Cameron and Mollie. I hope this gift isn't too much, I have no idea what you like so I just decided to buy you this. I'm sorry for your loss, I hope this puts a smile on your face because you deserve to be happy Harry. I will see you later handsome. Jasmine xx
I read the note again making sure I wasn't imagining it. Did she buy me a gift? Placing the card down on my bed, I picked up the small box and pulled the ribbon off. Opening the top I saw a watch. The metal was midnight black and leather. The clock face was surrounded by patterned leather. The clock face itself was beautiful. The clock hands were silver and went round a circular picture. It was a full moon with a wolf engraved into it. I smiled and chuckled at it before placing it around my right wrist. Placing the box back down next to the card, I left my apartment.
When I exited my apartment complex I was greeted by a familiar face which I hadn't seen in a while.
"Hey H"
"Isaac," I said with a surprised expression. "I thought you weren't getting into town until later?" He was meant to arrive back later today from the scout mission I had sent him on looking for the invisible wolf, Jasmine.
"I caught an early flight," He said chuckling. It was good to see him. I just wish it was on better circumstances that he came back early. He nodded towards the limo and opened the door for me to enter. I gave him the best smile I could and entered the limo.
As the limo drove away I could hear Isaac arguing with the driver. Something about taking a wrong turn. Isaac was a perfectionist and that's why he is training to be my second in command. He rarely makes mistakes and wants everything to go the way he expects it. Especially today, I could tell he was nervous and wanted everything to run smoothly for my sake. He was good like that and definitely made my life as an alpha easier.
"We're here" I mumbled to myself while looking out the window at the church. Opening the door to the limo I stepped out. First greeted by Isaac again who patted me on the shoulder giving me a sympathetic smile. Isaac and my father were not very close. Maybe because Isaac was always out on scouting missions and was always really busy doing jobs for me. However, even though they barely knew each other, Isaac and my father had a good relationship. My father would always offer him a beer, which he offers no one and I mean no one.
Walking into the church we were met by Mollie. She also gave me a sympathetic smile and hugged me when I approached. Feeling her warm embrace cheered me up and took all the stress away, then she let go. I was right back to where I was. Mollie and my father were always up to no good. They would always laugh really loud when they were alone and you couldn't help but feel like they were talking about you. Mollie was like a little sister to me. A step-sister more like. That's because my father and her mother were a thing for a couple of months. Mollie and I stayed good friends. Especially when she became a werewolf.
Making my way to my seat at the front row. I spotted Cameron who was sat in his seat next to mine. Cameron and my father had the best relationship. Sometimes I thought my father liked him more and when we were younger I used to get really jealous. Cameron was like a brother to me. I've known him since we were little and ever since he told me about his magic and ever since the night I was bitten we've been inseparable.
"H" is all he said. His usual light tone was gone and I could tell he had been crying with the red marks around his eyes.
"C" I returned. His face smiled for a split second when I called him C. I sat next to him and the ceremony began...
* * *
Stepping up to the podium, I glanced to my left and saw my fathers coffin laying 5 feet away. A tear struck my cheek and I began to read the speech I had prepared.
"My father, the sheriff of Mystic Hills, was the bravest man I knew. When others ran from danger, he ran towards it to save lives... and that's what he did. He saved lives on a regular basis. Not only was he a sheriff... he was a hero. Not just to me but my other family..." I gestured towards where my pack was sitting. "He was a hero to the whole town... But sadly he is gone... He was taken from us..." The last part I said with a hint of anger. There were a few mumbles from the church as they didn't know the truth. "He was taken from me!" Cameron approached trying to calm me down but I just ignored him and left the church. I crashed through the front doors and threw off my blazer. Pacing back and forth I heard a growl from behind me. Turning around I saw HIM... Gregor...
"I've come to finish off what I started before your pathetic father got in the way." Anger grew inside of me. He was really doing this now? At my fathers funeral... The one he caused... He and I lunged towards each other. Only one was coming out of this fight alive...
