Chapter 9 Spinning World

The elegant dining room went silent as Ashley, Yuki, and Aiko enter the room. Sasha and Ryuu's observant eyes are staring longingly at Aiko, who is clinging to Ashley.

"Mom, Dad... I want you to meet my dear daughter Aiko." Ashley introduced to her dear parents, Aiko who shyly waves at them.

The loud falling of utensils was heard before chairs being moved, as Sasha went to give Ashley a tight hug.

"My baby!" she exclaimed as tears stream from her kind eyes.

Ryuu also went and eagerly join their affectionate hug, as Yuki carefully pulls Aiko gently to her side.

"M-mom!" Ashley barely said as she hugs her mother back.

"What about me?!" she heard her father said as a smile form on her rosy lips before hug her dear father.

"We're so happy you are back safe and sound! Do you know how worried we are after your granny informed us that you won't be contacting us for a while?! Your father almost left the business trip he has just, so he can find you!" Sasha said as Ryuu quietly nod still hugging Ashley.

"I know... I'm sorry for leaving you all like that. I'm sorry for being such a rebel daughter." Ashley mumbles as Sasha joined in the affectionate hug.

After what naturally felt like hours to them, with their puffy, red faces and eyes, they broke the hug still sniffing. A maid politely handed them tissues as they wipe away their joyful tears.

"Mommy, I'm hungry..." Aiko mutters undoubtedly gaining their attention.

Sasha stares at her before giving her a tender smile.

Ashley's POV

"Hi, sweetie. My name is Sasha, you can call me Mommy Sasha." Mom said to Aiko, who gave her a shy smile, before glancing at me.

Yeah... Mom doesn't look like a grandma, so Aiko can just call her Mommy instead.

I gave Aiko a reassuring nod as she turns to face mom again.

"Nice to meet you, m-mommy Sasha," Aiko answers as she gave mom a gentle hug.

Oof my heart! I can feel tears gathering at the corner of my eyes because of how adorable this is!

"Ooh! Such a cutie! How did you manage to raise such a cutie all by yourself?" mom said as he turns to face me.

Wait a minute... Why aren't they surprise about all this?!

"Are you not going to ask any... questions about Aiko, Mom?" I asked as Dad led Aiko and Mom to the modern table where the denier is being served by our faithful maids.

"Oh, you don't have to worry about us, Ash. Your Granny told us everything last week. Come on, why don't you and Yuki have a sit so we can eat?" She answers with a pleasant smile before helping Aiko sit on the plush chair.

Yuki and I stare at one another confused by how to they are about this situation. I'm sure my parents that I know would not react so calmly about this.

Yuki shrugs her shoulders before walking leisurely towards her seat. I did the same as I sat down beside Aiko, who is sitting down beside my dear mom.

Time passes by... quietly. Too quiet.

Mom has taken a liking to Aiko, that she always presents lavish gifts to her. Either modern clothes, shoes, accessories, bags, stuffed toys, or even a collection of Hello Kitty stuffs.

Dad, on the other hand, has also been purchasing many things for Aiko. He gives her a coloring book, puzzles, and other entertainment games that can positively enhance one's mind.

I can't believe how devoted they become to her, they are pampering her too much.

I already talked to them about not wanting to raise Aiko by spoiling her, because of that they made Aiko correctly solved creative challenges to rightfully earn the lavish gifts they give her.

I can't believe them...

Just thinking about how much stuff they brought for her is making my head throb. I know I'm supposed to be happy they accepted Aiko just like that, even though they know she is not really my child.

I just can't help but feel like something is going to happen soon by how quiet these past few pleasant days have become.

I'm hoping it's just my mild anxiety that is speaking and not really what's going to happen.

Miyuki's POV

Ah! Finally! I can finally ease my mind.

My best friend is finally back home safe and sound, and with adorable Aiko by her side.

Gosh! Just thinking about her adorable face is instantly making me smile!

But it was only for a moment when my phone vibrates once again. Sighing I ended the call before plopping down on my soft bed.

It's been three days since Max keeps on calling me to remind me of 'our' date. He didn't even give me a chance to answer him back then!

Argh! Why is he so persistent to have that date?!

I felt my phone vibrates once again, taking a deep breath I answer the call.

"Yo! Kearsley! Why did you keep on ignoring my calls? Are you that nervous to have our first date?" I immediately regret answering that call, when Max's teasing tone answers.

"As If! I'm still a bit tired from my flight and I'm a bit busy with work you know?" my answer made him chuckle as I feel my glowing cheeks heated up.

Wait for what?! Did I blush because of his attractive chuckle? Wait no-- Erase that part!

"What's so funny about that?!" I annoyed said before sitting up.

"Oh nothing, I did not realize you have a cute side."

C-cute?! Who is cute now?!

"Shut up! If you really want this date, then let's set a schedule for this Saturday. Meet me here at my house, and make sure you will pay for everything that day! Okay? Then bye!"- I quickly ended the call before concealing my face on my plump pillow.

My heart is thumping loudly at my ribcage as my face is delicately flushed red.

Gosh! What is happening to me?

Ashley's POV

Argh... my head!

Opening my eyes, I grab the water bottle I keep on my bedside table, before taking a sip.

I only took a nap for a moment while Aiko is out with mom, they are shopping together at the modern mall.

The pounding of my head eases a bit after taking a sip of my distilled water before I gently rest my head back on my plump pillow. Blinking the blurriness of my eyes away, I stare thoughtfully at the large ceiling.

"Should I make an appointment with our family doctor? This terrific headache is getting weird now..." I mumble to myself before I hear a gentle knock on my door.

Slowly sitting up, my world began to spin. I try to steady myself before I try to stand up.

Oh, no... what is happening? Is it because of 'that' accident? But the doctors said that everything was fine... Then what is this?
