It felt a bit odd to see Blake off at the airport after the weekend. Since he was flying back on a Monday morning, her parents weren’t there, but they had tasked Lila with giving him a stack of boxes, all laden with homemade snacks. ”They’re kind of afraid you’ll starve on the plane I think,” she cracked, as she handed Blake the cloth bag of food boxes. ”All two hours of the flight. On first class. Without food. Absolutely dreadful.” The smile he gave her was surprisingly sincere.  ”I liked your parents a lot,” he said quietly. ”And I deeply appreciate their concern.” ”Yeah they like you too. Anyway, safe trip, see you in a couple of weeks for the next intense round of socialising?” ”I don’t think it’ll be that intense- although maybe I shouldn’t jinx that. See you in two weeks.” —
