Chapter 10

1742 Words
Daniel’s POV- On the ride back to school, all I could think about was Olivia. She had clearly been through so much, and she had done it alone. Brave and with a badass attitude, it is perfect to be an old lady, but she will also be a ranked sister. It will be the first time in the history of the Phoenix Knights that a woman has ever become a ranked member of our club. She is going to be legendary. All the girls will look up to her. I had to think of a way to tell her without her thinking I was crazy. She needs to know that I am telling her this because I care about her and want her to be safe. I also don’t want the b***h brigade getting my way. They have no right to find out Olivia’s business. As we pulled up in the parking lot, Katie said, “Mike, by the way, Dad just asked why we didn’t know much about Olivia, and I told him. It is because your girlfriend is a jealous b***h and bullies her. So, I stayed away so I didn’t piss you off.” “I am going to break up with Sarah. Only kept her around because she gave amazing head. Now, I know Olivia should have been one of us all along, I will call things off with Sarah because she bullied Olivia,” Mike said. I turned to look at him, and asked, “Are you really going to do it?” Mike nodded, “I ignored my best friend and brother’s feelings for a girl because I wanted to get my d**k wet more. What kind of brother does that make me?” “You are serious about breaking up with her,” Katie said, crossing her arms across her chest, while popping her hip, ready to sass the crap out of her brother. Mike chuckled, “Yes, I am. Now, how are you going to get Olivia alone, so you can tell her?” “I will claim I want to talk to her in private and that it won’t take long. I want you guys to stand guard though. The whole school doesn’t need to know her business until she is healed and safe,” I responded. “Agreed,” Mike nodded. We headed inside to go to our final class of the day, while Fireball and Atom waited by the bikes. Katie had to go off to a different class to the rest of us, but she told us she would be back here as soon as the bell rang. As we walked towards our classroom, Benny stepped out of the boy's bathroom, I rushed up to him, slinging my arm over his shoulders. “Benny, I need your help,” I whispered. “You have never asked for my help before, but if it is so you can get Olivia into your bed, the girl has enough on her plate and I won’t let you become another thing on her plate,” Benny responded, a little protective over Olivia. “I won’t lie, I want her in my bed, I want her to be mine, my girlfriend, because I am in love with her. But I am not declaring those feelings to her yet. I want to help her get away from her abusive stepfather,” I said. Benny stopped dead in his tracks and looked up at me. I was a little taller than he was, so he had to look up to me. He growled, “How the f**k do you know?” “I saw the marks on her neck, I saw the text she got from him, I saw the way she paled at the text. Katie saw the bruising too, and Olivia’s birthmark. That birthmark is identical to a man who is best friends with my dad and Mike’s dad, a ranked brother of the Phoenix Knights, named Gold. We got some of Olivia’s DNA and ran it against his, as well as showing him a picture of Olivia’s mother. He recognized her mother as his ex-girlfriend. The results came back before we returned to school. Olivia is Gold’s biological daughter. She is a Phoenix Knight, and doesn’t even know it, which means she is now under and should have always been under our protection,” I told him. “And, what about his girlfriend?” Benny said, jarring his chin out in Mike’s direction. “What girlfriend? I am breaking up with her. I was only with her because she gave great head,” Mike shrugged. Benny rolled his eyes at him, “You better not treat Olivia like that.” “I never would. Once I am with her, she will be it for me,” I told him. Benny let out a heavy sigh, and asked, “What do you need me to do?” “Encourage her to come talk to me in private when I ask her to come and speak with me in private. I know she won’t want the whole school knowing until she is safe, so she needs to come somewhere privately with me. I will tell her everything, and tell her to call me when she is ready to meet him. I figured she would probably want to go home and confront her mother, before agreeing to meet him,” I responded. “As long as you have people watching her and the house, because I saw the text her stepfather sent her. If he catches her at home, he is going to lock her away. I told her to forget what she has at home and just leave, but she is adamant about going home and getting everything she needs,” Benny told me. “Why would she risk herself like that?” I growled. Benny chuckled, “It is nice to see you are protective of her. But trust me when I say, what you see of Olivia at school barely scratches the surface of who she is. She told me once that she had to get the top grades or there would be hell to pay. She acted like it was the end of the world when she got a B grade on one paper. She then spent a few days off of school. I put two and two together back then, that her situation at home may not be a good one. I didn’t say anything because it was clear she was not ready either. My mother was like her.” “Your mother?” My brow furrowed, I had seen his mother and she was very happy. Benny nodded, “She was abused by my sperm donor, until I turned thirteen and beat the s**t out of him. He is in prison now. But enough of this, let’s get to class, and there is a free seat next to Olivia. And, yes, I will help you.” I nodded, and thanked him as we headed for our class. We all filed into class, as Miss Gerald gawked at us. But said nothing about us being late. Mike f****d her I think, even while dating Sarah. So, we just took our seats. There was a free spot next to Olivia again, which I took straight away. Benny took his seat back next to Megan. As soon as we were in our seats, Miss Gerald continued with her lesson. I leaned in close to Olivia, and whispered, “I want to talk to you privately after class about something really important.” “You are not going to ask me out, are you?” she asked, keeping her voice low. With our eyes locked on each other’s, I could see the pain, the hope, the longing in her eyes. She wanted me to ask her, but I think she was feeling like she might have to say no to me. I smiled, “I want to ask you out, but when you are ready, I don't think that is right now. I want to talk to you about what you have been hiding from everyone, because I have a way to help you.” “You can’t help me,” Olivia said, looking away from me. I glanced up at Benny who had been watching the exchange. He leaned over and whispered something to Megan, as I said, “You have no idea how wrong you are, Olivia. I should have fought for you since freshman year, and for that I will always feel guilty. But now, I am here, and I am going to fight for you. Even if I have to follow you to the end of the Earth, even if I have to kill that stepfather of yours.” Her head snapped up in my direction, and she gulped, “You know?” “And, I know things you don’t know. Things that will give you a way out, and safety for the rest of your life. So, talk to me after class in private, please. I will get on my hands and knees and beg you,” I said, thinking I don’t care if I look pathetic or weak, I will beg for this woman. “You should speak with him in private. He is desperate enough that he is willing to beg you. No biker begs ever,” Megan said. “You should speak with him, Olivia. It is obviously very important,” Benny added. Olivia looked at her friends, as they encouraged her to talk to me. After a couple of minutes, she took a deep breath and turned to look at me, and said, “You have five minutes after class, because I need to get home fast.” “It won’t take long, I promise,” I smiled at her. Not ten minutes later, the end-of-day bell rang, and we all got ready to leave. Olivia and I walked side by side with her friends behind her, and the rest of my crew behind me. I found an empty classroom and opened the door, ushering her inside, before giving the others a nod. Knowing that they would wait outside for whatever becomes of this conversation. I could see that Sarah was already marching towards Mike. I knew he was going to have fun dealing with her. I closed the door and turned my attention to Olivia.
