Marcus led me upstairs without saying a word. I could smell his fear, and it disgusted me. I don’t know why my pathetic human counterpart bothered to choose him as his Beta, but for now, I’d have to deal with it.
“What’s so important that you had to drag me away from my mate?” I growled. After walking in silence for so long, I was getting even angrier that he hadn’t explained himself yet.
“Sorry, Alpha.” Marcus had flinched at my words, showing me even more proof of his weakness. “Agatha didn’t explain, but she seemed frazzled about something.”
