Chapter 2Jarrett’s head felt a lot better when he woke up. He hadn’t intended to fall asleep again so soon after he ate, but he’d finished the soup, bread, and juice and fallen asleep like a kitten. Who’d have thought eating soup could be so tiring? The effects of the concussion were fading. He could certainly think straighter, though still with a little fuzziness from the painkillers. The bed was flat again and the light still on when he woke. He silently thanked Marc for remembering. He’d have hated to wake to blackness. The door stood open too. So Marc could hear him if he called. He’d have to call soon, and he didn’t much like the reason. He had to piss. There was a door across the other side of the room marked Bathroom.
