Chapter 10The day came at last. The storm receded, and the scanners showed something on the edge of their range. Not Earth military and not the Vengeance—a transport ship, heading their way to drop off the scientists who’d man the station again and pick up “David” and Marc. It was only a few days away.
As they waited they worked at eliminating final suspicious traces, either in the computer or around the base itself. With twenty-four hours to go, they packed, which meant going into the room Marc and David had shared. Jarrett had been in there for David’s clothes, but it felt different to go in and manhandle the guy’s personal belongings. He tossed them in the trunk without looking at them.
