The dragon within

   I couldn't wait any longer for her to explain so I spoke up.  "Ma I thought you and dad were mates what do you mean?"

   "We were mates my sweet child but the man who is biologically your father was not." I  see the tears run down her cheek and I'm at a loss on how to comfort her.  I mean she just admitted that I was a bastard. I let go of her hands and begin to look away however it was a if she read my mind and grabbed my chin making me look at her and I could tell there was more. "Let me explain my child." She said. 

   "Before you were born your... Samuel and I didn't see eye to eye. He wasn't quite ready to settle down when he found me especially seeing as how I'm an omega and he was the kings beta. He was worried what people would think. He was so handsome and not bad with the ladies. I worked at the little grocery store here in town do you remember that before it closed down? "She says with a smile. I just nod my response and her smile fades. "Your father wasn't the only one with an eye for me though. I was being watched for weeks and I didn't even know it.  His name was Drakel... He was a dragon." That's when I lost it. I started laughing so hard my eyes were watering. 

   "Nice try mom but everyone knows dragons haven't existed for years they are extinct." 

   "And who drove them to extinction Leon? Tell me who was the last person to kill a dragon?  I know I've told you that part of the story many times." I felt my face pale as reality hit me. "Now let me finish" she says. "One night while walking home from the grocery store some guy pulls up and I'd be lying if I said he wasn't handsome. He asked if he could take me out and Samuel was busy with another woman so I figured what harm could one drink be? I asked what place he had in mind?  He informed me he wanted to take me to the dugout which I could see straight up ahead so I got in..." she pauses for a minute "but that's not what happened. Instead after I got in he locked the doors which made me uneasy since we were so close but I didn't question it until he made a right turn down the next street and the bar was straight up ahead. I knew right then that I was in trouble and started to panic." My mother was now in tears yet again and the sight shattered me so I put my hand on her back to comfort her but she shrugs it off. I was hurt at the action until she explained. 

   "I don't like to be touched during this part of the story and only one other person has ever heard it so bare with me child." I nod my head and does as she wishes. "I asked for him to just let me out and i could walk it was no trouble but he laughed. He told me that he has had an eye on me for awhile and he had to have me. I then began to fight but he was much stronger than anyone else I've met and he knocked me out the rest of the drive. After I came to I was in a room with no doors but the ceilings were huge and I realized i wasn't in a house but in a cave. I didn't think anyone would save me because Samuel made it very clear he didn't want me so I excepted my fate until the alpha contacted me through our mink link. He said Samuel was freaking out because he could tell I was scared and i told the alpha everything that I could remember and what I was seeing now. That's when Drakel entered the room and I panicked and disconnected the line. He smiled it was genuine but it was dark. He told me he had been watching me and he wanted me.  I tried to explain that I have a mate but he didn't care I was going to give him a son to rule for him.  He said he was the oldest and last dragon and he could tell his time was near. He forced himself upon me every night until I became pregnant." At that she grabbed my hand and gave me a gentle squeeze.

   "The alpha and your... Samuel finally found where I was and came into the cave while drakel was out hunting for us. Your father lost it when he seen me and the rest of this should sound familiar to you. When Drakel came back he could tell something wasn't right but I distracted them. I could never live with myself if anything happened to those two. While Drakel was... on top of me the alpha jumped onto Drakels back with the rope around his neck but he wasn't expecting the dragon to grow. Drakel was massive and while the alpha held on for dear life Samuel found a small opening on the dragons chest and plunged the sword deep into his heart. Samuel came and carried me home. I'm going to be honest I decided I was going to let another family adopt you i didn't think I could look into the eyes of my captor. When I held you for the first time though I knew you'd never be the man Drakel was." 

   Even though Samuel wasn't my biological father he was still my dad. Why did he not hold any resentment towards me?" I asked confused. 

   Ma just smiled at me and said "because Samuel seen the same thing in you as I did. You weren't the one who hurt me love and in a way you were just as much a victim as I was" she begins to stroke my hair. "You see my boy your wolf might be a weak omega but your dragon will not be."
