Chapter 2: Part 1

POV Azeen and Akela The Sky was a beautiful shade of blue without a cloud in sight; the sun was shining ever so brightly, sending down warmth on my skin that felt like a warm hug. The Limber Pine trees were more than 100ft tall, and I would say the oldest being 300 years old and the youngest being around 50 years old, the smell of pine surrounding you, in between each Pine tree was little bushes of Lavender and Sage, between them were beautiful bunches of daisies. The Forest floor was like a scene out of a Enchanted forest. You could hear the frogs, and crickets as they talked amongst each other, the Red-napped sapsucker was perched on one of the trees with what looked like his family following lead. A Lewis Woodpecker was calling for his mate and the Warblers were singing a beautiful song to each other. You can hear the rushing of a water fall not far from where I am. Akela it’s so beautiful here, where are we? I’m not sure Azeen, but you are right this place is absolutely stunning. Can you let me out to run? It’s been a long time since I was able to stretch my legs. How do we do this Akela? Just stay lying down and try to relax, I will do the work. I could feel the bones in my body break one at a time, and then two at a time, 3 at a time; I let out a scream from all of the pain. It took about 5 minutes to shift but once the shift was completed the pain disappeared. You did great Azeen, Thank you! I promise the next time we shift it won’t be so bad, and the more we shift together the easier and faster it takes. Akela I feel so free, yet so lost. I still know nothing of who I am other than the visions I had when awakening my powers. I understand Azeen, and I think soon enough all those answers will come, for now let’s run. We ran through the forest for what seemed like hours, every so often stopping to take in all the beauty this place has, I couldn’t imagine any other place more beautiful. Every so often we would see a family of deer; we saw a mama moose and her baby, a family of bears, and a stunning lynx just gracefully walking. While running we had a queen bee fly with us for the first hour or so, then she grew bored and flew home, but not without landing on Akela’s nose and thanking her for the company. Being in wolf form is Astonishing, we can talk to all the other creatures of the earth, they are not scared of us, nor are we of them. We finally come to a stop in front of a breath taking lake, the water was so clear that you could see to the very bottom, it wasn’t a very big lake, more like a watering hole, with a very large waterfall at the other end, and a small creek flowed into it from the right.  On the left side of the lake there were 2 very large Douglas Maple trees, a crab apple tree, and a pin cherry tree.  Off to the right where the creek was flowing in was large Western Red Cedars, the smell was like what I would think heaven smelt like. Akela bends down into the lake for a drink, when she raises her head she says to me, “Azeen look at our reflection.” I look down and a gasp is released from me, we have angelic silver eyes, our fur was as white as snow and Akela stands at just over 6ft 7 on all fours. She is absolutely stunning. Akela you are mesmerizing We are Azeen, in human form and wolf form. I think it’s time you and I talk. I’m unable to explain everything to you, but I can about us, and werewolves, and a bit about your powers. You will need to talk to your Grandmother Aurora when the time comes though. So they really are a live Akela? I wasn’t sure they were. Yes your grandmother and grandfather are alive and well, they own that cute café you go to for breakfast every morning, Aine’s Café. So this entire time, I have known my grandparents they have watched me grow, and they still charged me for my breakfast and coffee? I start to giggle and so does Akela. We need to shift back to human form for a bit Azeen, are you willing to try and shift I will walk you through the process. I’m pretty sure I can do it, I feel well rested right now. That’s because your body was able to rest and heal Azeen, basically our body was able to sleep, while we ran. It’s one thing about being a werewolf, that we even though we are one, our bodies are not, so while is human form, the wolfs body rests, but is always prepared for battle, when in wolf for the human body sleeps and heals. Will I be able to shift between you and I faster or will it always take a few moments. With practice Azeen we will be able to shift back and forth between human and wolf form with a blink of an eye. That sounds good Akela, Thank you for being my wolf, and thank you for always being here for me, even if I didn’t know it was you. I am so sorry I didn’t always listen to you when you spoke. Azeen there is nothing that you could have changed, and you did listen when it was most needed, every time Roger started hitting you or beating you, you allowed me to come forward while you rested. I was able to protect your soul from the pain. That was you Akela? That was me; this was and is my job to protect you, to be your friend, and to be the other side when needed. I will help you navigate this world and the many obstacles coming our way. But first let’s shift! Once I am lying down, I will relax, all you need to do is think about your human form. It only took about a minute to shift to human form; there was no pain just a bit of a uncomfortable feeling. I bend over to the water and look at my human refection, my white hair hung just below my bum; it had a natural wave to it, my skin looked like that of a porcelain doll, all the bruises and cuts were gone, and my eyes were back to being clear and silver. Akela what happened to all the bruises? As soon as you believed me, and started listening, you started healing at the speed of a werewolf. Before Luca was even healed, you were 100% healed, allowing you to heal Luca. How did I do that? You possess the power of healing Azeen; you are able to heal those that deserve it. You can not heal for selfish reasons, and you cannot bring back to life. There is so much you have to learn about. I think we should talk about our wolf side. This part of you is the most dominating right now, and since I am your other half its really important for you to understand everything about us. Okay Akela, I think that is a good Idea……. POV Luca “Mom what is going on with Azeen? Why has she not woke up yet? It’s been 3 days now.” I say from the side of Azeen’s bed in the hospital. My mom looks up from her chart, “Son I could only imagine what you are feeling right now. But Azeen’s body and brain just went through a very traumatic time, it needs time to heal, she needs time to heal, and she needs time with her wolf. Akela has come forwarded 3 times now, Azeen is shifting from human to wolf. This means that Azeen is healing the only way she knows how to. She is not in any pain; we have had to use no medication on her. Please Luca understand that when she is ready she will return to us. All I can do is keep monitoring her.  When was the last time you slept and showered Son?” “I’m fine; I can do all that when Azeen awakes.” “Do you really think Azeen is going to appreciate seeing you sleep deprived, non bathed, covered in blood Luca?”  Carmella says as she walks through the door. She looks down at me and hands me a coffee, and then walks over to mom gives her a side hug and kiss on the cheek, hands her a coffee then heads over to the empty chair by Azeen’s bed.  “Do you Brother? Cause I know I sure as hell would not want to wake up to that, especially if it’s my mate. Go home, sleep, SHOWER, brush your teeth, go for a run and let Tamaska out for a bit. I can call you if anything changes. Plus Azeen was my best friend first, and we are soul sisters so I will know before you do if anything was to change.” Carmella was absolutely right, I was scared to leave Azeen, I didn’t want to lose the woman I love before even telling her that I loved her, but I needed to eat, run and shower. “Okay Mom, okay Carmella you are both right, Carmella you will stay with her and mind link me with anything changes, and mom you will keep monitoring her?” “Yes” they both say at the same time, my mother helping me up out of the Chair and shooing me out the door.   First thing I did was take a hot shower, them I had on me was making myself sick, once cleaned up and in fresh clothes, I went to the kitchen and made myself some leftover chicken chow mien my mother had made the night before. Dam this is delicious I thought to myself as I take a bite.  All of a sudden I hear a knock at the door, well more like a banging on the door. Only 1 person I know that bangs on our door like that, Roger.  I get up and answer it, “What do you want Roger, I am not in the mood for one of your little drunken b***h sessions.” “Where is Azeen you f*****g mutt?” “Seriously Roger is that anyway to talk a human that is part wolf, that could rip you to pieces in a blink of an eye?” “I’m not playing f*****g games.” Roger pushes passed me through the door and into my house, “Azeen, come f*****g out now you little w***e. You know the f*****g rules, home every day after school, and chores to be done. You know what your punishment will be. Get f*****g DOWN HERE NOW.” He yells “Azeen is not here you tool, she has been in the hospital for the last three days, the last time you beat her you put her there, both you and Bethany. Sheriff Goyathlay has been notified, and once Azeen awakes from her coma and confirms the information that was provided to him, you and Bethany will both be thrown in Jail to live out the rest of your miserable lives together.” “Stop f*****g lying, I have never laid hands on Azeen, and neither has Bethany. No one will believe anything you, your sister or that dumb w***e says. Everyone knows that Azeen is a drug users and sleeps around with men. Bethany and I hear her every night with a guy upstairs.” The words that poured out of this man’s mouth caused me to go into a rage; I could feel my eyes turning black with anger, my claws coming out and my beautiful eye teeth changing. “GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW, BEFORE I KILL BOTH YOU AND THAT b***h OF A WIFE YOU HAVE.” I couldn’t control my anger any more, what Roger was saying about Azeen was all a lie, and it broke me. Azeen was the most beautiful, loving, caring, non sexually active woman I have ever met, and to hear this drunk talk about her in this way was wrong. Roger ran out the door, but before he shut the door he turns around and yells, “You let Azeen know that if she wants to continue these lies about my wife and I, I will be forced to take action into my own hands and she will not like that.” He slams the door is gone. I have to catch myself from running after him and killing him, it is the utmost rule that we never kill a human for selfish needs. The punishment is a slow painful death caused by the nightshade plant Belladonna. It’s not worth it to kill him. My stomach growls and I hear Tamaska “Seriously you are slowing killing me with not eating if you are not aware yet.” Ah good friend I am sorry, let’s go eat. Sounds good to me Luca, your moms chow mien is the best. She kissed me Tamaska, I could feel her love for me, and then like that she was gone. I know Luca but she needs to heal and Akela will help her, it’s hard for me as well, she is our true fated mate, seeing her helpless in that hospital bed breaks me. But we need to be strong for her. Did you see the way she ripped Michaels neck apart, I have never been so proud, she moved so quick, and her movements were like watching a waltz, for a girl who knew nothing about who she was, her instincts were spot on, hey Tamaska. That was Akela, she was helping Azeen, she came forward when Carmella was shown to us. How do you know this? Akela and I are wolfs we can talk to each other without you knowing. She needed to come forward, Azeen was starting to become confused and overwhelmed. Luca it's okay to allow us to take charge sometimes, especially when in circumstances that could potentially hurt us. Akela is the most gentle wolf you will ever meet, and you will fully meet her when the time comes, and Azeen is healed. For now my human we must go and sleep. …..Luca made his way to his bedroom; it took him no less than 2 minutes to fall asleep once his head hit his pillow.  He slowly drifted off in to a wonderful dream……
