Part 3:

POV Carmella

The noise from outside Azeen's hospital room was getting louder with each passing second, what use to be a calm area was now filled up with nurses yelling, than I hear "get me Luna Elsie and quick, tell her it's her son."

I jump quickly from the chair beside Azeen, give her a kiss on her forehead and tell her I'll be right back and rush out of her room.  I scan the area quickly to see where they have taken my brother, I see Nurse Helen rushing passed me, I grab her arm and Ask "Where is my Brother? What is going on?"

Nurse Helen was 27 years old, and was the head nurse for the entire hospital, which she became at only 21 years old. She is what is considered a genius, and should have became a Doctor, my mother even offered her an internship to teach her as well as pay for her schooling, but Nurse Helen said that she loved being a nurse and caring for the sick. 

"Carmella follow me I will take you to Luca, he was brought in by your father according to him he found Luca on the ground outside the house unconscious. He said that he went home earlier to check on him and he was asleep in the bed, he left him to rest and went to the pack house, when he came back to the house again Luca was outside. Carmella we are doing everything that we can for Luca at this moment, but I must tell you something, this seems to be the work of magic. Someone has purposely put Luca to sleep."

"What!" I say as we enter Luca's room, I'm taken back a bit when I see him; he looked so fragile lying in the hospital bed. His hair all messed up, and his shirt ripped off him and just a sheet covering his private areas. He had electrodes connected all over his chest, arms and legs that connect to the ECG machine beside him. An IV was being put in and my mother was on the opposite side just staring at him.

"Nurse Helen" my mother says "Please call Sarah right away and tell her we need a scan done right away. She is at the Bella Elementary subbing in for Andrea while she is on maternity leave with her pups."

"Yes Ma'am, right away." with that Nurse Helen left the room.

"Mother what is going on, why does Nurse Helen think Magic is being used?" 

"Carmella, Luca has been placed into a deep sleep somehow, we know this because of this blue line leading from his head down to his torso, it’s not common magic, it’s of the old magic, only someone with great powers would know how to do this. Right now the only thing we can do is monitor him until Sarah comes."

"I do not understand why anyone would want to do this to Luca. Do we have any problems with any other packs?"

"I have a feeling this has to do with Azeen, Luca is her mate. There is a lot you and Luca both don't know about her or her family, we didn't tell you out of safety for her family, her as well as you and Luca. When we found out that Luca was Azeen's mate we tried everything to break the bond, out of protection for him. Sarah even tried and so did Adelrick, but nothing worked.  Your brother truly loves Azeen, and she him, their bond could not be broken, and now I fear the only one to wake him is Azeen, who is still in a coma."  I watch my mother’s eyes fill with worry.

 "How can I help mother?"

"Right now there is nothing we can do for Luca, the best thing you can do is sit with Azeen, keep talking to her, see if you can bring her back to us."

"I can try mom, Please mind link me if anything changes." My mom just nods her head in agreement "Mom I love you!"

My mom looks up at me gives a small smile and says "I love you to baby girl."     My mom must be really worried she has not called me baby girl since I was 12 years old. I head back to Azeen's room; I have to see if I can wake her. I also need to know what we have not been told about her, why we couldn't know for our protection and why they tried breaking the bond between Azeen and Luca.

I sit back beside Azeen and pull her hand into mine. "Azeen, my beautiful and caring best friend Luca has been put under a spell and you maybe our only chance to bring him back. We need you Azeen, I need you, and I miss you. We have so much to talk about, so much you need to know and so much you need to tell me. You are my Soul sister, we are soul connected and I know that you can hear me and I know that you can feel me. I need you to listen to my words, and feel with your heart what I am says and going to say." I move closer to Azeen, my face close to her ear. I know that I need to place a protection spell on both of us prior to trying to enter into Azeen’s mind. I am so grateful that Azeen went along with the blood share ritual when we were younger. She didn’t really know the meaning back then, she thought it was just a made up thing, but I know in her heart she believes we are Soul sisters and because of that I am able to place my soul with hers where it is, or call hers to mine.

I close my eyes so thankful Sarah taught me a few things; I pull out the candle in my bag and set it up on the tray beside me, yes I do carry candles on me, you never when you might need one.  I start to say the Triple Goddess Chant

Maiden, Cast your circle white; Weave a web of Glowing light, Stag and bear, Hawk and Wolf,

Bind us to thee,

Mother, Cast your circle Red; Weave the Strands of Glowing threads Earth and Air, Fire and Water

Bind us to thee.

Old crone, cast your circle Black Weave the Wisdom that we Lack Sunlight, Moonlight, Starlight’s Shimmer

Bind us to thee; Now that this is said, Mote it be!

I open my eyes and light the candle and imagine a shield of fire surrounding us, again saying my next chant;

Craft the Spell in the Fire; Weave it will; weave it higher.

Weave it now of shinning Flame; none shall come to hurt or maim.

None shall pass this fiery wall; none shall pass, No! None at all!

I place my hand on Azeen’s and now say our Soul Chant;

I am soft, but I am not weak, I am Kind

But I am not blind; I have strength you may not see…

I listen to my spirit, I follow my truth, I love my own harmony

I know who I am; Right now I need my friend’s soul with me,

I call Azeen to me, Let the chains fall, and be free

I call on thee, so Mote it be!!

I keep holding onto Azeen’s hand, I look at her closed eyes. Something is not right, why is she not waking up. I start to shake Azeen, and say to her, “Azeen wake up, where are you” I repeat our Soul Chant 3 times.

“Okay think Carmella, do the friendship spell, see if you can call her back that way, I will say it with you” I hear Blue my wolf say to me, we both start to say

Forces of the Earth magnetize, bring my friend Azeen before my eyes. Friend come to me, I’ll accrue.

Friend come to me, loyal and true. This is my will, so it shall be. Harm to none, nor return to me.

 “What are you doing Carmella?” I hear that sweet voice say.

I jump up and squeeze Azeen in the biggest hug.

“It worked; I have been calling you to come back to me.”

 Azeen smiles at me, “Well thank you my friend.”

I blow out the candle and sit back in my chair.

“Azeen, we need your help. Luca has been put under a spell and we can’t wake him.”

Azeen looks down at the bed, sadness streaks across her face; her eyes have a sorrow in them. “Where is he right now?”

“He’s just down the hall, but Azeen if you are not up for this we can wait till you are or maybe the Witch Sarah can figure something out. Is everything okay?”

“Oh ya…..” She says with some hesitation “Help me up so I can go to him”

“Well that was weird,” Blue says. “I know Blue, but I don’t have time to really question anything.”

I help Azeen up and take her down to Luca, the entire walk to his room she was walking slowly, and as we enter the room her hand starts to shake.  What is going on I think to myself.

POV Azeen

I walk into Luca’s room, and my hand starts to shake, how do I tell his family that I am the cause that he is asleep. How do I tell them that it has to be this way until the end of the month when I can finally be human to protect them all; that Luca will be the only reason I choose not to be human. 

“Azeen!” Elsie says as she grabs me in a hug, “I am so glad you are awake and all healed. I’m sure Carmella has filled you in that Luca is under a spell, and we are hoping that you will be able to bring him back.”

“Old magic was used on him; I am not able to reverse this spell. It has to be done by someone born of the magic which you were, weren’t you Azeen?” Sarah looks at me and says, giving me a look telling me I had to tell everyone the truth.

I had met Sarah so many times over my childhood, I never knew she was a witch, but it makes so much sense. She is such a positive upbeat person. Now that I know that I have come into my powers I see her colors.

“Yes it is old magic that was used, and yes I was born of the old magic.”

“Azeen what are you saying?” Carmella asks me.

“I think you all need to take a seat.” I look over at Luca not going close to him at all, making sure that I don’t touch him or allow our mate bond to pull me to him.”

“But why Azeen, why are you not going near Luca.” Carmella asks, I see that she is really questioning everything. 

Antonio walks in the door, “Azeen you are awake!” He grabs me and hugs me, then pulls back and looks in my eyes. “You know what is going on don’t you Azeen?”

“Please sit down Antonio, all of you, I will explain.” I wait while they all grab a chair Carmella had to go grab one from the hall. They really didn’t need to sit, but at least this way I had a few extra seconds to run if Carmella was to attack me once she find out the truth.

“I put the spell on Luca; he will not wake until a month has passed.”

Elsie looks at me, “but why and how Azeen, Luca loves you more than anything, why, how could you?

“Luca is the only reason I will not turn human, he will be the reason that I stay what I am. So for one month he will sleep, I will do what needs to be done during this month. I will make sure that this entire town and everyone who lives here will be protected, once that is done I will leave and continue on as a human. I will remember nothing of this life or you guys. All of you will be at ease you will remember me but only as the girl who passed through. My mate bond will be broken with Luca, he will feel it but it will not hurt him, he will be given a second chance mate, he will move on and feel the love that he deserves, he will have a Luna at his side. He won’t remember me as his mate, he will believe that his mate died, and when he awakes he will think as well as all of you that he was injured in a fight amongst King Declan.”

“What the hell Azeen, why the f**k would you do this, Why are you choosing to be human?” Carmella now standing and her eyes now turned black with anger.”

“Carmella now that’s enough; sit back down now.” Antonio says, “I understand Azeen why you are doing this, but could you not just keep your distance from him? Luca is our future Alpha making him the strongest person in Bella Luna, if we are under attack we will need him to fight alongside us. King Alexander is planning an attack on us, Alpha Erik has already contacted us to let us know.”

“There will be no attack happening sir, this is how it has to be done. Please forgive me, but I must be going I have lots to do. Sarah I am in need of your assistance to do something’s.”

Sarah just nods her head and walks out of Luca’s hospital room. I feel heartless right now, like what I am doing is selfish when in reality I am not, I’m doing this to protect everyone. Carmella looks at me with disgust and disappointment, “I’m your best friend Azeen, we are soul sisters; how can you think this is alright? How can you think that keeping my brother asleep and making us forget you is a good idea? I will never forgive you for this EVER!”

 “Carmella, I don’t need your forgiveness, and I don’t need to explain. I did tell you all what I have done out of respect for the family, but other than that, there was no other reason. I am thankful you and your family have been here for me since I was a child. I understand why everything was kept a secret, but you knew Carmella about who and what I was, you knew the truth and you still withheld that information even though we were best friends or “Soul” sisters as you put it.”

‘Azeen…..” Carmella started to say, but I put my hand up and started drawing a pentagram in the air, Sarah walked back in the room and joined in with me stating at the same time:

With this Pentagram, Protection I lay to guard this family, night and day. And for him who should not touch, may his body shiver in freight and cause his earth below him to quake. I now invoke the law of three; this is my will, so mote it be!

With that I waved my hand in the air in a circular motion and disappeared bringing alongside me Sarah.

 When I opened my eyes we were in the Moon Goddess’s park. “Shall we begin?” I say to Sarah.
