Playing the Field (Drake’s POV)

Can’t believe she actually showed. No guards either. This was going to be so much easier than I anticipated. A walk in the park for me and my boys. I had been watching their pathetic attempts and training. Security was a joke. This would be the easiest takeover in the history of wolves.

Being a rouge hadn’t been easy. But I managed to band together a small army. It would be enough to take over this pitiful excuse of a clan. Once I became Alpha, the King would have to recognize me and the power I would wield. I would turn this weak little clan into a powerhouse to be reckoned with.

I arrived early in case a hasty departure was required. Instead, I watched as she glanced around and pulled out that tiny mirror of hers. I didn’t need to be a mind reader to know what she was thinking. I could already smell the desire coming off of her. This I could use and manipulate. She would follow me to the grave and I wouldn’t even have to touch her. This part was gonna be a piece of cake.

I only really needed one thing from her. I needed them so distracted that they wouldn’t realize what was happening until it was far too late to stop.

“You came. No guards either,” I said. She jumped at my words scared out of the fantasy land she was in.

“I wanted to see you again,” she stated.

“Why?” I probed.

“Beeecccause, III..”

Cutting her off, I said, “Can you do me a favor?”

I pushed a piece of hair aside on her forehead watching her nearly swoon over the gesture.

“Will you do me a favor? “ I whispered in her ear watching as her whole body shutter and smelling her desire grow. She was right where I wanted her.

A stuttering yes followed.

‘I promise not to kill you,”I followed up to sweeten the pot.

She nodded vigorously.

“I need an invitation to your Graduation. Think you can handle that?”

She nodded again.

I brushed back the hair from her forehead and lightly placed a kiss against it sealing the deal.

“Same time, same place. Get me the ticket as soon as you can. If I am not here, leave it in envelope in this tree’s hollow. Understand?”

She nodded her head even faster. I took the opportunity to fade back into the woods.
