When secrets become known

Chapter 5

“Really? I can't just have this one night to be a normal teenager?” I asked her.

“Nope you're father told you not to go out tonight so you're staying in.” Rose replied. 

“Now, do i need to drag you back like i did last time or can you walk?” 

“I can walk.” I told her begrudgingly. 

We got back to my room where I changed into pajamas to signal that I was indeed staying in for the night. All she did in response was to get back into her little makeshift bed and fall asleep. 

This time I did stay true to my word and I just stayed in my room.  I stayed up a bit longer cause I couldn’t wrap my head around her sharing the same room as me. She had always been in the room right next to mine so that I could have privacy. But I liked the thought of having her so close. It made me feel safe. Yes I was still a little angry about not being able to go to the party but at the same time I can understand. She’s just doing her job. That still didn’t take away from the fact that I did feel a lot more safe when she was close to me. This hadn’t dawned on me until now but I could still feel its truth.

 As I was laying there I was thinking about a lot of things. I knew that I liked having her around but I couldn’t tell if it was because I knew I was safe with her or if it was something more. Like, did I actually want to be with Rose in the same way that a girl would want to be with a guy? As soon as that thought entered my head I took stock of how that made me feel. And sure enough, it wasn’t a cringe moment type of thing. It was more of a curiosity and if I was being honest with myself. The thought of exploring her body had my cheeks flaming. I didn't know how my parents would feel about it but I didn’t care. I wanted to know what it felt like to kiss her and to hold her in the early morning, after a long but satisfying night. That was the night when I realized that I wanted Rose in a more intimate way than just a bodyguard or even a friend.
