The next morning, I woke up to the soft light filtering through the curtains and found Aiden still fast asleep beside me, his little hand curled into my shirt.
I took a moment to just watch him, marveling at how peaceful he looked, all his questions and curiosities tucked away in his dreams.
Gently, I slid out of bed, doing my best not to wake him. I made my way downstairs, where I found Mia already up, brewing coffee in the kitchen. She looked up as I entered, a knowing smile on her face.
