Tera
After I reached the city that spelt hope, maybe. I crashed to the floor helplessly. Remember I had run without my strength. By that I mean, all that was within my power. I knew by all means I needed freedom. A breathtaking one. And I'm grateful I saw it before I passed out of reality. It was on the roadside.
“Haa. What a awful day. The directors could not deliver a simple speech, woman have the power too. Terrific. My kind, too anxious and unyielding.”
Muses from her lips shows how angry she was, and her day? A terrible one.
This was Mia, who stretched out a hand of love and comfort to rescue me.
“Greetings ma'am.”
“Hello, how do you do?”
That is how pleasantries poured from street to street as she walked home.
“I know in no time I will be home to suit my favourite home-made pancakes and salad. I know it will of course wash off the rage of the day.”
“Oh, not again. A bad bad, more bad day. And it just about coming to a close.
What's this? A home girl or street kid?”
“Hello, there's an emergency. I need an ambulance.”
The most amazing person still, in all ages ages and time, Mrs Mia. Back to the hospital she went to make sure I was alive and okay.
“Ooooh. Not today.” A lament of pain of all she had gone through that day.
The ambulance attendant asked her, “Anything the matter ma'am?
“No. Just no. I'll make up, and be fine.”
She was of a kind heart–so pure.
“Please rush her in, make sure she is safe. Do all you can.”
A doctor asked her about the patient just delivered from the ambulance. “Who's she to you, I want to take record.”
“Hmmm.” This was the sigh that changed everything. “She is my little sister that left for long. And she's back.” She tried to let out a smile.
She walked outside while the doctors attended to me. Looked straight to the sky and whispered.
“On the hill far away
Stood an old rugged cross…
Hmmm…
I'll cling to that old rugged cross
And exchanged it some day for a crown…”
She came back to the hospital reception to sit and wait for the feedback from the Doctors. She stayed long on the couch that she fell asleep.
She was muttering words from her dream before the attendant doctor came to give her the report.
“You shall not fear. You shall not die. No, not to be cut-off from this life.
You shall stay and say of all the Lord has done for you.
Yes, you shall not fe—”
“Madam, here is the medical report for your child.” Handling her a piece of document. “She will be fit to talk to you in no time.”
“Thank you Doctor. May the good Lord bless you.”
She sat on the same couch, reading through the the report.
“She must have suffered a lot of brutalities. I wonder what must have happened”
It was now 2:00am. And Mia was awake seeking when I would be up so she could talk to me. I was shocked. She never went home, to come back and check on me.
“C'mon ma'am, she is awake, so you can see her now.”
“Ooh. Thank you Doctor.”
That's how she rushed to my ward and my bed, and held my hands so softly that I felt the comfort from her soul. She smiled with surprise and said,
“Are you feeling okay? Don't worry you will be fine.” While she was still holding me I felt the need to tell her about the movement in my tommy which I think is a child, so that she will not be disappointed.
“Hello ma, my name is Tera, and I love how you care for me, even when we have never met before.”
“Hmmm. I am Mia and It's alright. You don't have to worry over anything. I'll be right here till you can be discharged.”
“See Mia, I feel I have a child.”
“You don't have to worry about it, Tera, it will be taken care of till everything is alright.”

It was on Monday morning. And I saw Mia happily bringing breakfast to my bedside.
“Good morning Tera, how are doing today?”
“Good morning Mia, I am doing well and good, as you can clearly see. And guess what Mia, the Doctor said I am free to go home now.”
“Wow. I am so happy you made it. We shall proceed home now.”
That's how we proceed to Mia's place. It was such a home of peace. Even if she was living alone. I could smell the peace, love and comfort the home brings.

“How pleasant is your place, Lady Mia. I am so glad you found me. What could become of me lying half dead on the lonely street? I'm grateful for you, Mia.”
It was a moment of relief as it seems Mia swallowed up all my pains. She looked at me with love and said,
“Can you tell me about yourself? All that happened till you saw yourself in this city. All that has happened to you. I will be listening, dear.”
“Thank you, Lady Mia. This is my story.”
“I was working at a bar at my town. After several weeks of working I found this guy. He caught my attention, but I never mentioned until he made moves to approach me. We fell in love. Like Seinders would put it, ‘love is a trap‘. So I found my in his arms and we were together. Until suddenly things changed when he found out that I was a virgin. He then link up with his friends to sell me out to a rich man that has a thing with virgins. Hmmm”
“Just keep calm, I am with you.”
“At his friends birthday party he drugged me, after I was drunk. Took me to a hotel room to wait for his bidder. There I slept with another drunken soul who must have missed his hotel room. Angry that I gave myself to a stranger, he kidn*pped me for days. It was hell. I could smell the darkness as it thickens daily. I was here, helpless, crying for help till a person. I don't even know who he was. He helped remove my chains, so I ran as far as I can. Till you found me on that street. This is my story.”
"You don't have any worries now that you have found peace."
