Conrad's POV Avery was sitting in the car outside the lawyer's office. She said she needed a minute alone in the car. I knew that she was really struggling with being here, but I was proud of her for coming and not letting her mother stop her. That woman was vile, and she was right up there with my mother. She may not have killed someone, but she was just as mean, and I wouldn't put it past her to kill someone if she felt compelled enough. Avery opened the door and got out.
