Conrad's POV
It had been a week since I had given Avery the divorce papers. I was so mean to her, but she hadn't left me any choice. When she pulled me to her and kissed me, I was so shocked, and I knew that I had to get drastic with her. It was the only way she was ever going to move on, and I could move on. That's what was best for us. I had taken my father's advice, but I was struggling to visit my mom.
My office door opened up and Paul walked in. "You look like shit."
"Ya well, I haven't slept all week."
"I'm just going to say this as a man who has been divorced twice. Are you sure you aren't making a mistake? I know you love her."
"I do, but she betrayed me in one of the worst ways possible. I can't forgive her. It's just going to take time."
