Pregnant

1900 Words
Andrew’s POV “Hey Lina. How is going? What are you doing?” I ask trying to control the excitement in my voice. “Andrew. I’m pregnant!” She blurts out. “Pregnant!?” I say surprised. My mate is pregnant. I sit down behind my desk, she called me while I was just getting to my office. “Yes. Is.. that ok? I mean how do you feel about that?” She asks. I can now hear the vulnerability in her voice. “Oh Lina. I’m over the moon! This is wonderful news! I’m so excited! We’re going to have a pup of our very own.” I smile. My mate is pregnant and far away from me right now. “Oh Lina I just want to pack a bag and come see you right now.” I say. “Drew. No!” She says quickly. “If you come now, you’ll never leave.” She adds. She’s not wrong. Ugh. There is no way I am staying away from her. “I don’t think I’ll be able to stop myself.” I say. “Okay, then let’s make a deal. How about you can come and stay when I start to show. I’m only 3 weeks along. It’s still very early in the pregnancy. The doctor says it will be at least 2 months before I start to even show.” I think about what she says. “This will be hard, but okay. I want a picture from you every day to make sure you’re safe.” I say, partially joking. I want to see her right now. I want to wrap my arms around her and keep her safe, but I can’t just stop everything because my mate is pregnant. I am the Alpha and she is the High Alpha, we do have a responsibility to our packs. “Oh Drew! The doctor says everything is fine so far, but I was already planning on taking progress pictures. So sure it’s a deal.” I’m happy to hear the doctor says everything is normal, but it’s so early, something could still go wrong. “If anything happens to you or the baby I want to know as soon as possible. Tell me immediately. Don’t wait until after you get out of the doctors. If you feel something is wrong tell me.” I say sternly. “Deal!” She says excitedly. “Good. So how are you feeling? Are you getting any evening sickness yet?” I ask. “Babe, it’s called morning sickness” I can hear Lina laughing. “ Uh luckily enough, no it hasn’t happened yet. I’m feeling nervous, excited, tired, everything all at once.” She says. I could feel her energy through the phone. “It will be ok Lina. You just stay healthy, get some rest, and don’t worry. Worrying about stuff won’t change anything.” I say trying to reassure her. “I know, and I will.. but the pregnancy isn’t the only thing I’m nervous about..” “Well what is it?” “I have a newly assigned omega.” She says. “Who is it? And why would that make you feel nervous?” I ask. “His name is Fayne. And I don’t know I guess I’ve just never had someone waiting on me, or someone who is always around. It’s always been just me, I don’t need all that.” Lina has always been very self sufficient. She likes to do things for herself. “Have you asked about having him dismissed?” I ask. “Well apparently, It’s a great honor to serve me. His family is considered favored for it. He wears a special colored robe just for being assigned to me. He seems to be very excited about it. I can’t take that away from him and his family. I don’t want to disrespect anyone.” She says. I have heard the omegas at the Citadel can be very prideful on who they serve, so I guess it makes sense. “Well it’s only for a little bit, while you are there. Just try to focus on getting some rest. And Why don’t you try reading about pregnancy, the more you know about it the less scary it will seem. Fayne will help to make sure you’re eating healthy and being and taken care of.” I’m happy someone is looking after her, but I still wish it was me though. “ so have you told anyone? Who can I tell??” “I’m glad you asked. Don’t tell anyone except your parents! I want to wait to tell everyone else for when I get back.” She says. “Ok. I’ll be sure to tell them not to say anything.” “And make sure Rachel doesn’t find out! I want to be the one to tell her!” “She’ll be so excited! You guys can do pregnant girl things together!” I hear Lina laugh in response. I smile thinking about how exciting this news is for all of us. “We need to start thinking about baby names.” She says. “We have PLENTY of time to figure that out. Don’t stress yourself out too much.” I say. “I know, I just want us to start thinking about it now. I’m just so excited! I wonder if it’s a boy or a girl?” She says. “I just want it to be healthy. It could be a wild cat for all I care, as long as it’s healthy.” I say. I hear her laugh. “A wild cat.” She laughs. It’s only been one day and I miss her so much. “I’m just saying.” “When do you start your studies?” I ask. “Tomorrow is my first day. Tonight they are having a welcome party for me. It is apparently a big deal.” She says. “Well you better start getting ready then.” I joke. “It’s still early, but you’re not wrong. I need to find something to wear. Alright well I better go. Bye! I love you Andrew!” “I love you too Lina, have fun tonight!” I say before I hang up the phone. Catalina’s POV I hang up the phone with Andrew and I feel like a weight has been lifted off me. I’m so glad he was excited about the baby. I’m also glad he isn’t dropping everything and coming here. I feel like I should want him to, with this being our first child, but we are going to have so many moments as a family. And we can’t just forget about our responsibilities. Eric is right, this is the perfect time for me to be here, and if Andrew comes, I’ll be too distracted by how much I’m just going to want to be with him. I can do this, I can knock out this training and be home before I start showing. I just need to get through this party tonight. I’m eager to start the training tomorrow. I hear the front door open and I leave my bedroom to see who it is. I find Fayne wheeling in a wardrobe of dresses. “What are all these for?” I ask in surprise. “High Alpha.” Fayne bows. “It is for the event tonight.” He says. “Oh, I can just wear one of the dresses I brought with me.” I say. He looks at me blankly. “Forgive me for being so blunt, but those dresses will not do for such an event.” He bows his head. I wouldn’t call that blunt but ok. “And why not?” I ask. “Well, they are a bit plain for events at the citadel.” He says. I could tell he was uncomfortable telling me my dresses weren’t fancy enough. “And since you are the guest of honor, you should stand out more.” He adds, trying to cover up his true intentions. I sigh. “Very well.” I say. He smiles and rolls the dresses to the bedroom. I follow behind him. I sit on the edge of the bed and wait for Fayne to finish setting up. When he has positioned the rack, I look over each dress. They are all a little too frilly for my personal taste. One has too many layers and looks like a cake, one has too many bows, one I’m sure is just 20 pounds of lace. I come across one that catches my eye. It’s a strapless ombré floor length dress, The top of the dress is dark blue and the fabric transitions to pure white on the bottom. The whole dress is adorned with a gold leave overlay. “That is an excellent choice High Alpha.” Fayne says. “I like it. Let’s do it.” I say. “Very good.” Fayne bows to me. “I’m a bit nervous.” I admit to him. “It’s understandable. Everyone of importance will be there tonight.” Fayne says as he pulls the dress from the rack and hangs it on the doorway. “Everyone of importance. How many is that exactly?” I ask. “I do not wish to make you more nervous, but you should be prepared.” I look at him with concern. “Prepared for what exactly?” I ask. “It will not just be werewolves at the party. The council is also apart of a group for magical cooperation.” He says. “So there will be witches there?” I ask. “And vampires and elves. To name a few.” “Fayne, are they.. our allies?” I ask. He is quiet for a moment. Then he stops and turns to me. “May I speak freely High Alpha?” “Please do.” “Some of them are, but most are not. To the were you are like a savior. But to the rest, you are a great threat. I know you can take care of yourself, but that is another reason I’ve been assigned to you.” “For my protection?” I ask. How can this man be my protector. Don’t get me wrong, I sure he could take on one maybe two, but if they are coming after me they’re gonna be packing a punch. “I’m more capable than I look.” He says. He must of know what I was thinking based on my facial expression. Whoops. “I don’t mean to insult you. I’m just not used to having a bodyguard.” “No bodyguards and no omegas. Was there anyone to look after you?” Fayne asks. I’m a bit surprised with his comment and giggle. “Oh I do apologize High Alpha for my outburst.” He bows. “Please, I said you can speak freely. Please continue to do so. If we are to spend time together it would make me feel more comfortable.” I say. He bows again. A/N Hey readers! Thanks for waiting for the updates.
