I woke up with a pounding headache from partying the night before. Someone from school threw a back to school party and I just had to go. I laid in bed while the room spun for what felt like hours. I eventually made my way downstairs and found my brother, Max, in the kitchen making coffee.
“Morning sis,” yells Max “would you like some?” Handing her a mug. “Ugh, don’t yell!” I say grabbing my head as it pounds harder.
“Haha looks like someone was out partying all night, weren’t you?” He exclaimed. “If you must know yes I was, I figured it’d be nice to get out for a change.” He rolls his eyes as if he never gets out of the house when he’s out all the time.
“Well you better hurry and get ready or you’re gonna be late for school.” Max says pointing at the clock which is showing 8 am. “s**t why didn’t you wake me we leave in 10 minutes?!” I yell. “It’s not my fault haha,” Max sighs and continues getting ready. I run upstairs to get dressed and hurry to finish getting ready. With 2 minutes to spare I grab a banana and head out to the car. Max is a year younger than me but he got his license before I did.
We got to school and everyone was whispering and pointing, I thought it was towards me. I asked Max “what’s going on?” He looks around and says “some new kids are starting today, look!” And he points towards the door we had walked through a minute earlier.
Two really attractive guys walked through the door. Everyone was watching them walk past. As they got closer to me they both winked at me. I continued down the hall behind them. Not following just going in the same direction to my locker. Which turned out to be right between theirs. I walk over and silently open it with my head down and put my books inside. As I go to walk away I feel a hand on my arm, it was one of the guys. I slowly turn around “hi,” I say shyly. They both chuckle and the one says “you don’t need to be afraid haha, I’m Gael. And this is my twin brother Silas” and points towards his brother. “Do you have a name?” Silas asked. I hesitated on telling them but they just seemed nice. “Eris, my names Eris,” I managed stutter out “have you met anyone to show you around yet?” I say forgetting they just got here. “Not yet but I was hoping you could considering your locker is right by ours?” Asks Gael.
I nod and wave my hand as if telling them to follow me and I start walking away. I turn around to find them standing there confused and chuckling. “Aren’t you gonna ask us what class we got” says Silas. Right classes, this is high school not elementary. “Right haha what class do you have?” I ask. “We have the same classes all semester,” says Silas “English, history, science and math.” I look down at my schedule and it turns out that’s what I have as well. “Well follow me then cause we have the same classes,” I look at their schedules to make sure “we have the same teachers too, this way!” I say guiding them down the west hallway.
I helped Gael and Silas get to there next class and they sat with Max and I at lunch. After lunch I took them to science class with Mr. Henderson and math with Mrs. Green. On the way out I felt a cold hand on my arm, it was Gael. “Hey, um thanks for showing us to class today,” he says quietly “I had fun talking and getting to know you today.” Wow I never had a boy say anything like that to me before. “Oh, you’re welcome, I liked getting to know you too.” I say blushing. “I didn’t get all the work done in class, do you think you could come to my place and help me with it?” He asked, smiling. Oh my god was I just asked to a boys house? Wow. “Um sure,” I say “let me just let Max know he doesn’t have to drive me.”
I see Max waiting by his car. “Hop in I wanna go to the mall.” He says. “Yea about that, go on to the mall, I’m gonna go over to Gaels and help him finish the math work,” I say waving “I’ll see you at home!” He drives off while waving out the window.
I turn to see Gael and Silas pulling up in their car, Gael driving. I go to get into the back but I hear “Um no!” It was Gael “Silas do you mind sitting in the back so Eris can sit up here with me?” Silas shrugged but got out of the front seat anyways. “Oh no it’s okay I don’t mind sitting in the back, this is your car after all.” I say to Silas. “No I insist, sit in the front, it’s fine,” Silas says “I’d rather sit in the back anyways.” I sigh but obey the command anyways. It wasn’t a long ride from school to their house, but it was a quiet one.
We go inside and Silas runs straight for his room. “Don’t mind him, he’s shy around girls,” says Gael “his girlfriend from our last school passed away a month ago and he’s taking it pretty hard.” I start to feel bad for Silas and want to give him a hug but thats not why I’m here. “So where are we gonna do this homework?” I say changing the subject. “Where’s your dining room table? Or kitchen?” He laughs. “I was thinking we could work in my bedroom,” Gael says while smirking “our uncle should be home soon and he usually has a friend over, if you know what I mean?” He winks. Ew gross I did not need to know that. “Oh um yea sure we could work there,” I say shyly and blushing. “Will your uncle not care if you have a girl in my room?” Gael laughs while leading me up to his room. “No he never comes up here.” Gael shows me the bathroom while walking towards his room. “Before we go in I have to use the washroom,” I say turning around “I’ll be right back.”
I finish in the washroom and head down the hall towards Gaels room. I stand in the doorway and watch him take all the work out of his bag and lay it out on his bed. He spotted me at the door “Oh hey!” He said excitedly “how long have you been standing there?” I laugh “not long, I just got here.” He pats the bed. I go sit on the end of his bed. “You don’t have to sit all the way over there you know.” I stand up and look at his bed, it’s gotta be a king size, it’s huge. I stand there watching him look at the work, just admiring his cute face. I sit on the bed beside him and help him with the homework.
Once I finished helping Gael with his homework it was 6pm. “I better get going,” I say. “Do you have to?” Gael says with a sad face. “Unfortunately yes” I say chuckling. “Let me drive you home then, it’s getting dark and I don’t want you getting hurt,” Gael says caring “I’d feel bad if you got hurt walking home.” I chuckled and agreed to let him drive me home.
We pulled out front my house and I could see Max watching from his window. I look at Gael “thanks for driving me home, you didn’t have to,” I say. “I know but like I said I didn’t want you getting hurt,” he says. “Well I better get inside before Max makes his way out here.” Gael smiles and waves at Max in the window. “Hey I think your brothers pretty cool,” he says laughing “have a good night.” I went to lean in for a hug and he kisses me on the cheek and says thank you one final time before I run to the house. This could’ve possibly been the best night of my life.
