Ramona approached Jermaine, who ignored her completely.
His bodyguard intercepted her with practiced efficiency."Ms. Mahoney, Mr. Bauer is occupied and unavailable."
"I need to speak with Jermaine," Ramona insisted.
"Mr. Bauer is entertaining guests. He has no time for you."
The bodyguard's gaze grew impatient.
Ramona noted his attitude.
Of course, to them, she was just Jermaine's lovesick shadow.
Jermaine must have grown thoroughly tired of her for his staff to treat her this way.
"After tonight, Jermaine and I will be engaged. Do you really want to risk consequences by speaking to the future Mrs. Bauer like this?"
The bodyguard scoffed at her claim to the Bauer title."Ms. Mahoney, engagement or wedding, I have to follow the orders. Mr. Bauer said he's busy. Save your breath and return to your seat. Don't make trouble."

"What if I insist on seeing him now?"
