Chapter 22

Arohi's POV

“The black one is very sexy, you should use it for a strip tease or something …it would be a great revenge, trust me!”, I said while taking out the bags from the trunk and looked back at blushing Abha.

“God she is blushing so much, Vihaan is so damn lucky.” Nitya said nudging Abha teasingly.

We walked towards the entrance of my house which was quite empty tonight for 3 main reasons

1) My parents and whole family has gone to bhabhi’s mayka to meet our little princess.

2) We had our girl’s night out today at my place, and we are going to have whole lot of fun, basically it’s going to be a get wasted night!

3) And last but not the least there were no boys to irritate us tonight.

I walked up to the porch and began to look for the keys in my bag. The silence though somehow if you would have been alone would have felt quite threatening but I had my girlfriends, and hence it felt quite peaceful.

“Gosh it feels so good that the boys are not here, for sure till Abha’s wedding that stupid kabeer is going to die, and trust me I won’t feel guilty at all for killing him.”, Nitya said while she parked her sexy ass on the stairs of the porch.

“What did he do with you girl?”, Abha asked in a sing song way while she joined her as well.

“He was being an ass as usual, he came to the hospital and literally showed away one of my patient because of his nasty remarks… someone needs to badly filter his mouth.”

“I didn’t know you love me soo much?”

“mummy!” , we all screamed, the keys as well as the bags in my hand fell down, my heart was running at the speed of god knows what kilometer and that surrounding which just a minute ago felt peaceful, now seemed anything but peaceful.

“Gosh I didn’t knew I hang out with such girly people!”, Kabeer made a face and sat down beside Nitya who seemed to be more than pissed.

I took the keys and resumed opening the door feeling that hot burning stare at my back.

‘why the hell are these people here?’ I thought. But what can I say ? I should have known that we will not be able to spend even a single day having a girl outing; something seriously needs to be done about these guys.

I left the lock where it was and turned around to get some answers but Abha beat me to it. She narrowed her eyes at Vihan and asked “what are you all doing here?”

But rather than answering anything Vihaan just winked at her and gave her those “heart melting and wetting your panties” as quoted by Abha- smile. I could feel the warning bells ringing in my head and before my best friend would invite the boys inside I stepped beside her and said, “don’t give that smile Vihaan, she asked you something.”

But it was as if my today’s day was at its worst, as the most unwanted person spoke up “why? Were you girls planning something? Or you can’t control yourself around us handsome guys?” Arjun asked in a husky voice.

What was wrong with him? He never ever acted like this.

“no, but I think we had made it clear that the weekends are ours and we have clearly said that we don’t want any of you over the place where we are going to spend the weekend till your marriage.”, I said and pulled Abha who had become a lotus-eater with just the word of her and vihaan's marriage and was busy having a romantic date with Vihaan, while staring into each other’s eyes.

“And vihaan if you want to get married on 31 December than take these asses away from here or else every weekend of ours which you will spoil will only result in your weeding to be postponed a week more… so think about it.” With that said I walked inside the house and turned on the lights and asked the girls to get freshen up.

After about half an hour once we were fresh, with the pile of romantic movies in front of us, boxes of pizza’s , the fridge loaded with ice creams, the Act 2 popcorn of three different flavors ready to be made in the kitchen and some beer as well as fruit bear and coke to go with the pizza.

I know a lot to eat , but then who cares one day can always be cheated.

“I thought Vihaan would show tantrums but he gave up so easily?” rhea asked.

“My dear rhea he has given up only because of my threat but I know Arjun and the other boys, I am sure now they will go to some club get drunk and will come here… once they are here all we have to do is give them a strong drink and let them all sleep in one of the room where the sun shines most and continue with our plan.”

“that’s a wonderful plan yaar heads of to you…come now let’s start with DDLJ and then next is the Disney movies, you have all of them right?”

“yep” I said proudly and moved towards the DVD and inserted the disc of DDLJ soon the movie started and we sat down to watch the movie.

DDLJ an acronym for DIL WALE DULHANIYA LE JAYENGE … most of the kids today won’t understand its meaning and importance, but for us – who have born in 19’s DDLJ is like Notebook.

The way shah rukh khan and kajol have enacted the roles, it just touches the heart. This movie shows the Indian culture, the acceptance of love marriages, the acceptance of girls speaking out for themselves, and encouragement to dream those things which every girl once was scared of dreaming. It’s just a new beginning for every person. And to add up the romance is just awesome.

After the three hours when the movie came to an end, we all were a crying mess. The pizza boxes were empty so were the coke bottles.

“girls before we start with the next movie lets go and freshen up, and those who don’t want to go please prepare the popcorn.” Abha said and walked to one of the guest washroom which was near the kitchen.

I walked back towards my room got freshen up and once everyone was back we started with the beauty and the beast. Childish much I know, but that was the motto to relive our childhood days when no one would ever see us.

As the movie came to the end where the wind started to blow and a whole scary scene which a 5 year old would say had started up, I could feel someone shifting closer to me.

I looked at my right side to see rhea holding my right hand tightly, she was damn scared. I kept quite as I knew it was useless to argue with her and began watching the movie. As the movie preceded and the dogs were about to eat up the princess-

Bang

“Aa-b-ha baby I loveeee youuuu!!!” Vihaan stumbled inside the living room but not from the main door rather from the stairs!

This meant only one thing these boys the barged into my house from the terrace!

"Ugrh! guys stand here straight or else I will kill you all!”, I said and waited for them to assemble. All of them were there except for one person – Arjun.

“Where is Arjun?”, I asked in a stern voice. But only to meet with a pin drop silence.

“Raghav I asked something- where is Arjun?”

“You are missing me sooooo much? Then why are you marrying that asshole?” I heard that slurring voice just behind my ears, making me shiver – and the alcohol consumed earlier isn’t helping either.

“Arjun-“before I can even say anything else he stumbled upon me.

“Arjun wake up!”, I shook him holding his shoulders, but before he could say anything kabeer piped in

“You two look so cute together!”

“kabeer not now, just tell me what, and how much has he consumed?” I asked kabeer who seemed a bit sober, but as soon as he started to count his fingers one thing was clear that he is drunk as hell as well.

“ohh let it be, what are you guys doing here by the –“ , before I could complete my sentence I was pulled by Arjun towards the stairs.

“Arjun! Leave me, what are you doing ?”, I asked trying to free myself from his ironed grip.

“you can’t marry that i***t doctor. You know what I am going to do now?”, he asked suddenly stopping and cornering me towards the railings of the stairs.

“Tell me Dr. Arohi.” He demanded. I nodded my head in a no, only to meet that famous smirk of his. He again pulled me with him now with a direction towards my room and as soon as I reached inside he quickly closed it and locked it and sat down pulling me with him, on his lap.

“Arjun-“

“Shh, don’t say anything Arohi … I won’t let anyone take you away from me no one, not even that doctor. so we are going to stay here locked for lifelong see now no one can separate us“

He rested his head on my shoulders and said,” If you are angry with Anika I am sorry she won’t tease you anymore, I promise. If you are angry with me for rejecting you- I am sorry, but please don’t marry that doctor, it hurts here.”

He turned me into his lap and made me face him and kept my hand on his heart which was beating very loudly.

“please Arohi, that day you said that I am confuse if I like you or not… you were right Arohi I am confused but not with the fact that do I like you or not, but only because I am not sure if my feeling for you were just limited to my childhood crush, but, now I know Arohi … all I know is that I love-“

But all of a sudden there was a silence which was so thick. I tried to push him , waited for him to complete his sentence but how could he –he had passed out on my shoulder, before completing his sentence.

Leaving me all confused and bothered.

Was he just going to confess that he loves me? God Arjun! Why did you got drunk.

I tried to detangle myself from him but he held me tightly and murmured, “Arohi please don’t go, don’t leave me alone like Anika did…”

That did it all the thoughts of leaving him here in this room which might have cooked up in my head as well went away listening to this. I somehow managed to make him stand up and help him walk towards my bed, but rather than him sleeping on the bed we both fell down on it. I tried to get up, but the feeling of me in his warm and safe arms didn’t give me a heart to do so.

‘I will wake up early and walk out from here.’ I thought and gave into the sleep which had knocked my door after a very long time.

The sleep where you don’t have any dreams and even though you have and yet you don’t remember them, is one of my favorite- because the ones with a horrifying dreams give you a sleepless night , and the one with a beautiful dream which you still remember gives you a restless day.

Hence the one in which you sleep calmly and no dreams to remember off, is the best – and today for a change I had the same sleep … calm with no dreams to remember of.

I tried to shift and get up but something caged me to them. I tried to wriggle again but the same thing happened.

“Arohi don’t move or I will kiss you, just the way you did last night.” I heard his cocky voice.

I quickly opened my eyes to meet his soft black ones…I so missed the warmth which they have right now. Slowly and steadily his words sank into my brain and before I could even think of anything I pushed him aside and since he had caged me so strongly even I was pulled down, and with that we fell down from the bed with me above Arjun and he under me, landing smoothly with a thud and a loud groan from him.

“What happened are you okay?” I asked getting up quickly. As soon as I got up I helped him to sit but it was impossible for him to move.

“Arohi I guess my elbow has got dislocated!” he stated and groaned in pain.

I remembered what the orthopedic surgeon at our hospital suggested to do at such timing and quickly tied a dupatta of mine near his elbow and got ready. Then I helped him to get up as well and walked out of my room to check if anyone was up.

The house seemed to be very quiet; it seems that none of my friends are up yet.

“I guess none of them is up yet, you come with me, and we will go to Dr. Kailash at the hospital, he is the orthopedic surgeon.” I said while helping him to get up.

He or a change listened to me quietly and with that we walked towards DR. Kailash. God only knows how Arjun was going to react after the treatment begins.
