Chapter four
“if you say so' I replied even though I highly doubted it, we had danced for a while and i think that I had started to get the hang of it, when I heard a beep beep sound on my phone, I brought it out and I saw a text message from charlie, it read “tou are delaying the boss isn't happy she says where the hell is that scoundrel with the groceries!" My heart gave a thump sound, as I felt the colour drain from my face......

I just realised that I have been completely swayed by Ashtons charms some how I had completely lost track of the time and managed to completely forgwt about the errand. Panick had started rising inside of me, “i saw your dilemma about not knowing almost all the ingredients on the list so I took the liberty of..." Before he finished his sentence, a guy walked up to us, and gave a disposable bag to him.
“here you go" he said as handed over the bag to me, “thank you chet" he said as the guy put one hat on the cap he was wearing and rose it up a little “cheers mate" he said and started walking away, what I liked most about Ashton is before I said what I was thinking he appeared to already know it, this made my heart leap for joy.
“thanks so much for this but I have to get back to the house like right now" I said as he just nodded “i could drive you" he suggested even though I didn't see any car, I just imagined how much commotion that would be caused if he dropped me off I refused, ”no thanks, I'll get there on my own" I said as I was hurrying away from the, party.
I felt slightly guilty, so I walked back, “thanks for everything this is the most fun that I have had in a while" I said as he just gave me a slight smile and I bolted as fast as I could.

I havent had this much fun in a long time, I was at home in my vantage point, still staring at the unfinished picture of Sonnet, I watched her as she came in and out of sight quite frequently, it just propps a smile to my face, my phone dinged.
I stared down at it, “son our guests would soon be here so make sure to be at your best, both in clothing and behaviour got it" the text read, “huh another family function that I would have to attend," I sighed, as I put down the picture of her inside my backpack ans started going towards my room.
Maxwell Brailey
The doorbell rang and I walked down from my room towards the living room, so that I could welcome them my self, I took in a deep breath then pulled the door open with a big smile in my face, “hello mr Vostoc so glad that you could make it, welcome to my humble home," I ushered them in, with the warmest smile that my face could muster.
His wife looked backwards like she was waiting for someone, “in your letters I believed that you spoke of an off spring" I said again as they were coming until the house, ”our daughter it so happens that she forgot something back in the car, she'll be here shortly" Mrs Vostoc said displaying her voice filled with rich Russian accent.
“then I saw a figure walk towards them, it was a young lady, she looked very much like her mother, “alright now that the gang is all here how about we all go to the table and get ourselves acquainted with each other" I said as I led the way for them towards the dining.

My mom and I were seated at the dining, “how was your day son?" She asked casually, “it was eventful, one of the most fun days I save had in a long time" I said as memories of sonnet kept in flashing before my eyes, I had a gift for her later, I'll have to give it to her, i thought within my self, my mom wanted to still say something when the door bell rang “oohh they are here!" She said with slight enthusiasm in her voice, I just wondered what all the excitement was about, even my dad seemed a little anxious for this dinner, and growing up with a man who never showed much emotion made me curious.
A middle aged man all dressed up in a big grey jacket, and a really large head warmer, walked by, he looked Russian so did his wife.
They walked towards the dining with my dad leading them, I noticed that there was also a young lady trailing behind them, maybe she was their daughter, I assumed as they all took their seat at the table, all the meals were already present at the very long table, the food here was enough to feed a small party, this man bust really be important to make my dad go through all this trouble, for just one dinner.
“Mr Vostoc this is my wife Auburn Brailey and my son Ashton Brailey" my dad introduced us we both smiled to him he just waved, I doubted if this man was even capable of smiling, his face was stone cold, I shifted my attention to ther daughter she didn't pay any attention to the table as most of her focus was in her phone.
“mr Bariley thanks for the kind gesture, now to the matter at hand, word is spreading that the Korean pest we discarded of some years back, are regrouping," “sureky that's not a matter to discuss over dinner, but if we must, I have already taken care of It, my men has confirmed that thise sayings are only rumours, nothing more" my dad said as I noticed the tense look on Mr vostocs face calmed down a bit.
Be nodded in satisfaction as their daughter wanted to scoop some pudding from her plate into her mouth but because she wasn't looking she spilled the contents on the table, I think that a little bit fell on her dress, “uh fudge!" She exclaimed, she needed napkins, I looked around the table but couldn't find any.
My mom clapped her hands, as I could hear footsteps rushing to attend to her need, “so Mr Vostoc is this the daughter you promised that my son would get married to" when this words left his mouth I was pretty sure I felt like an anchor was just throwing down in my heart.
But I completely felt crippled when I saw that the maid who brought the napkins for my mother was sonnet, my jaw dropped, she heard everything, she stared at me with hurt in her eyes.
I noticed that her hands were shaking as she delivered the napkins to my mother, “hold those napkins straight you nit wit" My mom commanded, her as I noticed that she tried to compose herself.
It hurt me knowing that I had caused her pain but how was I supposed to explain to her that I didn't even know of this arrangement until today, and even jf i convince her I couldn't go against my parents wishes, especially when they know that they'll withdraw my inheritance from me, they had drummed that Into head since I was a child, “can I be excused?" I asked my dad gave me a look that could burn down the tallest building.

Based in the instructions that Mrs Brailey gave us earlier once we heard her ckao her fingers I should bring the napkins, and so I did, I walked forward passing through the really adorned walkway as I arrived towards the banquet they were having, i knew that my footsteps could be heard as I approached the table.
so Mr Vostoc is this the daughter you promised that my son would get married to" my heart sank I didn't know why I stared at him as he stared back at me, my whole body trembled, I couldn't believe my ears, hold those napkins straight you nit wit" his mother said jokting me back to reality.
After I had delivered the napkins I walked as fast as my legs were able to carry me,I didn't know why I felt hurt, we were never going to work out I mean I always knew that, he was the heir to a billionaire dollar company and I was just... A maid, I was staggering through the house looking for a place to just be alone.
If his mother needed someone for the dinner there were others there who could attend to her, I just kept on walking and my legs just took me to the tallest point of in the whole house, I could see every where from up here, I just sat down, on an air-conditioning box outside staring intobthe night sky.
The moon was just perfectly round, the sky was clear as the wind tossed my hair rivthe direction if it's movement, my heart was heavy, I was sad I've met him for only one day so why is the news of him getting married to another so painful. “the view from up here is quite astonishing isnt it......"
