The ball

It was 8 pm when almost everyone gathered downstairs. The only person missing was the "surprise of the night". At 8:30 pm, the king started talking:

- Let's celebrate my dear friends because today is my daughters' 16th birthday. She will come out right now.

The queen told Angelo while whispering:

- Can you please be Elda's companion for tonight please?

He was shocked at first but then agreed. He went upstairs at Elda's room, knocked on her door and came in.

- Princess are you done?

- Angelo I told you to stop calling me like that.

- Just for tonight?

- Alright but I'll call you mister Angelo too.

- Deal. So how do you feel?

- I'm so nervous, I don't think I can do this..

- Do what?

- I have to hold a speech but I'm so nervous and when I think that I can mess it up I get even more nervous....

- Don't worry, you'll do just fine. I believe in you and I'll support you, so even if you make any mistakes I'll cover them for you.

- Really??!

- Of course!

- Thank you! I feel so much better now!

- Take a deep breath and let's go princess.

- Let's go mister.

The princess and her companion show up and everyone starts clapping. They go downstairs, Elda goes to hold the speech and Angelo was right behind her.

- My dear people,

 I thank you all so much for coming tonight to celebrate my 16th birthday. Today is a very special day because I will be officially the princess of this country and will be held responsible for all of you. I hope to not disappoint you and for all of you to accept me as your princess and your future queen. I will try my hardest to earn your trust and to find the right king for you.

  I thank you all again for coming!

Everyone starts clapping, whistling and saying "long live the princess ". The speech was very short but it was pure so it touched all of the people that were there.

Later on it was the time for the princess to dance. She had to choose a partner and open the dancing ceremony. Everyone was waiting in curiosity on which one was going to be the lucky boy to dance with the princess. They were in such a deep curiosity that no one actually invited her to dance. Elda was getting nervous and didn't know what to do, when suddenly Angelo approached, bowed and kissed her hand saying:

- Can I have the honor to dance with you princess?

- O-of course!

They start dancing. They were perfectly matched and were making a great couple. The people there were so happy you could actually see the shine in their eyes. The princess thanked Angelo at the end of the dance and that's how their unbreakable friendship was born. The night ended without any interruptions and everyone had a lot of fun. It was around midnight when the ball ended so Lila and Angelo had to sleep at the castle again, but this time with a little change. Lila and Elda had to sleep together at Elda's room and Angelo had to sleep where Lila slept because all the other rooms were for the guards that had no home. Apparently at the castle were a bunch of guards that had no family or their home was too far for them to go and come back the next day again, so the king said that they could live in the castle too. After going to their separate rooms Angelo remembers that tomorrow he had to go back to his town and started feeling sad that he had to leave so he barely got any sleep.

The next day comes and around noon Lila and Angelo head back to Lila's house, but before going he exchanges numbers with Elda so they could stay in contact. Their separation was very sad but that wasn't a farewell, that was just until the next time.
