The unknown hero

Yuri's backstory

Often, when school would finish, Carter and Yuri would usually hang out with Angelo in his room. Angelo's room was actually really simple. As they were staying there, they decided to play truth or dare. After finding the bottle they started the game. It landed on Yuri and Angelo, Yuri had to ask:

-Truth or dare?

- Truth!

- Hmm...why do you like Carter so much? As a friend I mean.

- If you don't know, Carter and I are friends since we were in middle school. We were opposites but as you already know, opposites are attracted to each other. Same with us I guess? He was the only one who stuck with me during that period of time, even if he had plenty of friends, he would never leave me alone and so here we are today. Still best friends.

- That was a touching story. I didn't know Carter could be nice. Anyway let's continue, spin the bottle.

This time it landed on Angelo and Carter and Angelo was the one to ask.

- Uhmm... Carter, why did you tell everyone that you were Yuri's childhood friend?

- I... I'm sorry I did that but in fact I had a childhood crush and best friend and her name was Yuri. I guess a part of me believed that Yuri was her and I got carried away for a second and told everyone that... I'm really sorry...

- It's fine we both forgive you don't worry but you shouldn't do that anymore.

- I won't ,I promise. So let me spin the bottle this time.

After spinning it, the bottle landed on Yuri and Carter but Carter was the one to ask this time.

- So Yuri, where is your dad?

- ...I don't know where he is...

- Why? He left from home or what?

- No, I don't even know my dad.

- Huhh...how come?

- Well you see, I'm actually adopted by my mom...well not by my biological mom tho.

Angelo got curious and wanted to know the full story and he asked her that.

- I don't mind telling you the story but it's gonna take a while.

- It's fine, - both of them said as she continued with her story.

- Ok so, my mom told me that I was adopted when I was 7. I really don't remember anything that happened before I was 10 that's why it was a shock when she told me that. So apparently she got an unknown letter where it said to go at an orphanage on 14/06 at 14:20 pm because a new child would arrive and they were hopping she'd take me in. She and her husband...well ex husband, couldn't make kids so she adopted me. A girl working at the orphanage gave my mom a letter, so she could give it to me when I was 16. I got that letter and opened. It was the exact handwriting with the letter my mom got so it had to be the same person. The letter said that I would be helped by someone so I could fulfill my duty or something. I don't remember it good.

- What duty?! - said both of them with their surprised and confused looks.

- Well apparently I was sent here to help someone so this town won't change. That's why I don't know my parents...

- I know the feeling... - said Angelo with a sad expression on his face.

- Are you ok?

- Yeah...but I'm not in the mood to continue the game anymore, I'm sorry. When you talked about your dad, all the memories of my dad came, how he passed away in the war... I wanna stay alone for now please...

So both of them, Carter and Yuri got out and said goodbye to Angelo, hoping he'd get better and come at school tomorrow, but he didn't.
