My eyes search some more and luckily, I find two vases. After setting the bouquets in some water, I place one vase on the breakfast bar and the other on the dining table. Immediately, the infusion of colors adds to the elegance of the dinner setting.
"She said she had to run to the store for some stuff and then I guess she's eating out. You okay with being alone with me, Drew?" I meant that to sound flirty but instead the uncertainty in my voice clear as day made my words sound and feel awkward.
