Samika's POV
I am still sitting on the steps of the pack house, watching everyone before me with tears in their eyes. Not the tears of sadness but mixed feelings. Devon and the Alpha team that I newly appointed came back safe and with all the pups. But along with that, came a letter that was meant for me. I take that but I don't open it. Not yet.
Because my mind is still stuck at the place where the guiding spirit asked me to kill the one I love the most, as a part of the bargain. I look at Devon who is clueless. Right now, in my life I don't think I love someone like I love Devon.
"You went to great lengths to get the pups back, Alpha" one of the pack members says and I look at them, with my eyes struggling to stay open. It's been easily more than twenty four hours since I last slep
