Daniel's eyes shifted to the unconscious woman inside the car. He gripped the car door tightly as he thought about the question Nick had just asked.
After a moment, he replied, "Check on Mom to see if she is okay. Tell her that I will return to the Scarlet Howl Pack tomorrow."
Nick was dumbfounded. He thought, 'Did my question make you decide on going back? Alpha, you know the truth. Why are you hiding it from yourself?'
Daniel got in the car and told the driver to head to the Moon Palace.
Violet's head was leaning against the window frame beside her. Since the car began to move, her head kept lightly hitting the window.
He moved his arm, wrapping it around her waist. He drew her close to him, pressing her head against his chest.
He leaned against his seat and let out a long breath.
