Chapter 3 “Say what you wanna Say  and let the words fall out Honestly I wanna see you be brave.”  “s**t” Violet stops in her tracks  “I just wanna see you.” Fumbling she is trying to grab her phone “I just wanna see you” Violet reads the caller ID Cora Dayton. Violets heart skips a beat at seeing her best friends name.  She always knows when to call so I don’t do something rash. “Hey, You,” Violet says excitedly still standing in front of the boys home.              “Violet are you okay? You didn’t call me when you got to the cabin. You’re not falling apart, are you? I told you it was too soon to move away.” The stream of questions made Violet smile her best friend was always so concerned it warmed her heart. “I am fine Cora I promise.  I met the caretakers. I didn’t even know there were any.” Violet easily masked her voice so her friend wouldn’t worry.  She knew Cora would drop everything to help her but she really needed to do this on her own.  Besides Cora had a lot on her plate right now and Violet would hate to be a burden.              “A caretaker? Like a creep old man walking around the property?” Cora said in a hushed voice.   “Hahahaha. Why would it be a creepy old man? What books have you been reading?”  Violet started walking again she was almost to the edge of the house.             “ That’s just what I think of when I hear caretaker.  Some creepy old man in suspenders.  So who are they?” Cora asked just as Violet turned around the corner. “Just two br-“ wham Violet collided into a warm brick wall it shot sparks across her skin. She looked up and saw it wasn’t a brick wall it was a very muscular Eli. “Violet are you okay? What happened?” Cora is saying on the other line but Violet was in a daze looking up into such gorgeous blue eyes like a never-ending sea of blue. “Cora I am going to have to call you back.” Violet finally says and hangs up the phone. Eli pulled back quickly and stood about five feet away from her.  “Are you alright? You were so warm you might have a fever.” Violet said forgetting she was supposed to be mad at him for getting rid of her things.             “I am fine.” Eli says in a husky tone he quickly clears his throat as the little voice inside his head says aggressively “Mine.”  Eli shakes his head.  It can’t be, he thought. “Who were you talking to?”  he asked then quickly added, “You didn’t have to hang up.”   “It was my best friend I will call her back. I had a question for you.” Violet said being careful not to look into his eyes afraid she would forget he was in trouble.  She continued “I was in the master bedroom and almost everything is gone. Where is it?” The question was supposed to come out strong and authoritative but it came out weak and breathless.  What is happening to me she thought.  Then a small voice in her head said: “he is mine.” Violet gulped.               “Your Uncle wanted it gone.  So I did as he asked.” Eli shrugged. “What!!!!! You did What!?!?!?!” All of a sudden Violet didn’t have to remind herself she was mad.  She was shaking with anger. No, not anger, rage!  She started shuttering and feeling like she was losing control.  It was a feeling of power she had never experienced in her whole twenty years of life.  A growl ripped out of her body that scared yet excited her.             Eli knew what was happening but was confused. Why does she look so panicked doesn’t she know what’s happening she has to be at least 18 years old. The letter! Damn it. Eli mentally slapped himself. “Violet I am sorry I upset you.” “What is happening to me?” Violet yelled in the most animalistic tone she had ever heard. Her eyes widened as she hunched over and heard a ripping sound coming from all around her.  Then it sounded like all her bones were breaking. “It’s going to be alright Violet. s**t!” Eli shouted as he watched the woman in front of him become the most beautiful read wolf he had ever seen. In her eyes, he saw fear and he chose then to phase and help her.   His phase was simple and easy but he could see she was becoming frenzied. She was backing away quickly. Eli moved quickly trying to heard the frightened new wolf toward the woods.  "I have to get her out of this area," he thought.  Letting his wolf take over he got her into the forest.  Once there she ran for it.  Elis, Eli's wolf howled and ran after her.  "She is magnificent Elis thought."  "Stop it, Elis! She needs our help," Eli said to his wolf before giving back control.  She was running so fast when she phases back she won't know where she is.  Eli was concerned. He was supposed to give her the hope chest and letter so she would know before she phased what she was.  How stupid was he for being such a prick about her things?       Violet kept running she didn't know where she was going or what she was doing. All she knew was Eli just turned into a wolf, she was not feeling like herself,  and she heard weird sounds coming from her body then he changed and she just ran.  "No s**t! Maybe before you judge that hunky piece of wolf ass you should look in the creek over there." said a voice to Violet.   "Whose there?" Violet stops her running looking franticly for the voice she just heard. "Hello, I am you, or should I say, I am your she-wolf, Lettie."  The voice replied, "Now go to the creek before you phase back."     Violet lost control of her legs and was running again without wanting to. When she got to the creek she looked down and saw a red wolf look back at her.  "This can't be me." Violet thought. "Look again." Lettie whispered, "look closely."     Violet looked and sure enough, her emerald green eyes were looking back at her. She was terrified and then once again she started to shake. The next thing she knows she is lying naked on the bank of the creek, thinking to herself what the f**k is happening to me.
