Diane decided to retire to bed early even though she was not sleepy.
She was very worried, she had last seen Jeremy since morning and he hasn't been picking her calls since noon.
She was informed by the secretary that he left with Gregg in early afternoon but did not return to the office and she had kept waiting for him.

The ringing of her phone startled her from her daze.
Picking up the call.
"Hello" she said in a dejected manner.
"Heyyyy, Diane dear. I have missed you so so much, you are the worst friend ever. You haven't checked on me all these while" Rhea's loud voice penetrated the phone.
Diane flinched from how loud she was talking and how noisy the background noise was.
