Chapter 17 Life Is No Bed Of Roses.

As Varun was lost in his blissful thoughts , Neerav spoke, " Now, I want to tell you the most important most thing, Varunji."

Varun's heart skipped a beat hearing Neerav. He was aware that there was something hidden behind all the good things that was happening. It was his gut feel. Now, when Neerav said that he was going to talk about something important, he was anxious. He nodded his head in affirmation and said," Neeravji, I am all ears. Please go ahead."

Varun said," I know what Mrs Pathak did with Maithili, and she is in prison for that. I know you are a good father. You care for your daughter. You know what is good and what is not good for your daughter.I am sorry to say this but I am left with no other choice, Mrs Pathak is no good for Maithili. I don't want her anywhere close to Maithili."

Neerav understood and concured with Varun in his heart.

Varun was silent as he had no come back. What can he say? whatever Varun said was nothing but the truth.

Neerav continued, " I want Maithili and Raghunandan to tie the knot at the earliest. May be within the coming week. We will keep it simple. We will do the ritual at our house in the presence of our well wishers and get the marriage registered.

Varun agreed with Neerav.

Varun said, " Neeravji, I agree with whatever your conditions are and will try and fulfil them to the best of my ability. "

He wanted to know what Neerav wanted to talk about Shalini 's release from the jail but couldn't. muster up the courage to do so.

Neerav knew what was troubling Varun. It didn't take a genius to guess what was going on in his mind, looking at his worrisome countenance.

Neerav said, " There is only one condition, Varunji, and that is the wedding ceremony should be done before Mrs Pathak's release from the jail. I hope you understand why."

Varun felt ashamed and disgraced to be Shalini's husband. He hung his head in shame and nodded in affirmation.

Neerav continued, " After the wedding ceremony, Mrs Pathak's release is my responsibility. "

Varun smiled in affirmation.

Both Neerav and Varun stood up and congratulated and hugged each other, and then they fed each other Laddu(Indian dessert)on the agreement of the marriage between Raghu and Maithili, both touched Naanima' s feet to seek her blessings.

Naanima was talking to the astrologer to fix the date for the wedding ceremony. The astrologer who had long back predicted that Maithili and Raghunandan would be husband and wife, and the match was made in heaven. Naanima had taken the kundli( horoscope where the predictions are made on that bases of birth date, time , place on the paper) to the same Astrologer years ago to see if they would make a compatible couple and the Astrologer had announced that there would be one hundred percent compatibility between the two on matching the two horoscopes.

The astrologer was ecstatic to hear the news of the marriage between the duo. The earliest date that was the most auspicious day for the wedding was 8 days away.

Naanima was happy that they had sufficient time for the wedding preparation. Naanima ended the call saying "Ram Ram" ( Indian culture where people say Ram Ram instead of " Hi"and"Bye")

Just then, she heard Naav calling ,"Bhaiyya, Bhaiyya ,...I am home." and striding towards Raghu, who was talking to Neerav in his room.

Maithili was discharged from the hospital, and Naav came back home after dropping her off to her house. Raghu hearing Naav's voice rushed to meet his little sister. Naav hugged her brother and wept the happy tears . No words came out of her mouth, and the floodgate of her emotions had opened. Raghu consoled Naav, saying that everything was fine and their Papa was back home safe and sound.

Naav spoke," Bhaiyya , thank you so much for bringing back Papa home safe and sound. You are a perfect son, perfect brother, perfect grandson, and perfect everything. I feel so proud of you ,Bhaiyya."

Raghu was touched by Naav's words. There were tears in his eyes, too. Neerav was moved by how much his children were concerned about him and how much they loved him. Walking close to them, he hugged them both affectionately.

Naanima, too, joined in the celebration. She was full of gratitude towards God to see the family celebrating the reunion and prayed for them to be together happy and healthy forever but "Life" is no bed of roses, not by a long shot and if someone said that, it is,then they are lying. Life is full of trials and tribulations. One unique thing about life is its impartiality. Life does'nt spare anyone , everyone is equal. It throws challenges in everybody's lives. How we face them ,win or lose against them is all a mind game. As such, Life was all curious to know how the Kashyaps will handle the challenges that it is yet to present in their lives.

Neerav asked Naanima, "Maa,did you get the wedding dates from Panditji?"

Naanima said," Yes ,Beta(son) I did, and the earliest is 8 days from today."

Hearing the news, Raghu's face fell, which didn't go unnoticed by Naanima. She very well knew the reason behind his disappointment and dejection, not just that she also knew that some day these emotions of Raghu would change to blithe. He will be the happiest man, to be married to a girl like Maithili. Time will solve the problem

Naav was nonplussed. She was the only one who was still ignorant of the news that her brother, Raghu, was going to tie the knot with none other than her best friend forever, Maithili.

Naav said," Naanima, who is getting married? What's going on ? "

Naanima amidst all the chaos had not realized that she had still not revealed the big news to Naav. She was so invested in the endeavor of making this dream of bringing her Grandson and Maithili together true, that it completed skipped her mind of letting Naav know about it, after all it was her elder brother and her best friend who were tying the knot. She knew that Naav would go nuts for keeping such a big matter from her for so long.

When Naanima was thinking of a way to break the news to Naav about the wedding, Raghu spoke, " Whatt!!Naav, don't tell me you didn't know about my marriage ?"
