As it turned out, my regular pack doctor wasn't available. He was on some type of sabbatical, studying the effects of the blue moon on our kind.

"Ok, so, who's covering for him?" I asked his receptionist, with growing impatience. I had only called the doctor because Alexis had insisted, and I didn't want her to worry about me. But now that my guy, Doc Richard, wasn't available, I was seriously reconsidering my decision.
