I wasn’t even sure that I was hearing Alpha Alarick correctly. But, the way he was looking at me as though he wanted to do something mean to me was enough to show that it was real and not some sort of dream.
"What did you say?" I asked slowly.
He growled. "You heard me, Beta Evelyn. I would not let you reject me."
"Then, why don’t you do the honours?"
He moved away from me, and tossed the whole thing on his desk on the floor. In shock, I stared at the clatter. He was still moving around like a manic, trying to fling things. I held my ground, trying not to move like whatever he was doing was breaking me. I couldn’t fall weak right now.
