The night sky over Eldoria shimmered with unfamiliar constellations. The single moon that had watched over the world since the awakening now pulsed with shifting light, its surface rippling as if alive. The Song of the Forgotten Sky had grown louder, resonating through the academy’s towers and echoing in the dreams of every student.
Professor Arwen stood in the observatory, her hands pressed against the glass. “It’s happening again,” she whispered. “The Veil is opening.”
Far beyond the academy, in the ruins of the ancient city below, a circle of silver fire ignited. The air trembled, and from the heart of the flame stepped Kael. His armor glowed faintly with runes of light, his eyes reflecting the same brilliance as the moon above. He had returned—but not as he once was.
He looked older, tempered by journeys through worlds unseen. The mark of the Keeper now burned faintly on his wrist, a gift from Lyria herself.
“The Gate of Endless Moons,” he murmured, gazing at the circle of fire. “It’s calling her back.”
The ground quaked as the moonlight intensified, forming a column of energy that reached from the heavens to the ruins. Within it, a silhouette appeared—Lyria, radiant and whole, her presence both ethereal and powerful.
“Kael,” she said, her voice carrying through the light. “The Song has awakened the Gate. The Veil no longer binds only Eldoria—it connects every world born of its shadow.”
Kael stepped forward. “Then the balance is breaking again?”
“Not breaking,” she replied. “Expanding. The Veil is evolving. But something ancient stirs beyond it—something that remembers before creation itself.”
The Gate pulsed, revealing glimpses of other realms: oceans of starlight, cities suspended in time, and a vast darkness that devoured the edges of existence.
Lyria’s expression darkened. “The Void Between Moons. It feeds on forgotten worlds. If it reaches Eldoria, everything we’ve built will fade.”
Kael drew his blade, its edge gleaming with moonfire. “Then we stop it—together.”
Lyria extended her hand, and the mark on her wrist flared, merging with his. The Gate responded, its light twisting into a spiral that opened into the unknown.
“The path ahead is not of one world,” she said. “It is of all worlds. The Veil has chosen us to guard them.”
As they stepped into the Gate, the academy’s bells rang out, their sound echoing across the realms. The students who looked to the sky saw the moon split once more—this time into countless fragments, each glowing like a star.
The Gate closed behind them, leaving only silence and a faint shimmer of silver dust drifting through the air.
Professor Arwen gazed upward, her eyes filled with awe. “The Keepers have crossed the Veil,” she whispered. “The legend continues.”
And somewhere beyond the stars, Lyria and Kael walked through the light of endless moons, their journey beginning anew—guardians of the Veil, protectors of every dawn yet to come.
