Episode 9:The Song Of The Forgotten Sky

553 Words
The world of Eldoria had entered an age of peace. The moons no longer warred in the heavens, and the academy thrived as a beacon of knowledge and magic. Yet beneath the calm surface, a new rhythm pulsed—a faint melody that only a few could hear. Kael stood at the edge of the restored courtyard, gazing up at the single, unified moon. It glowed softly, serene and whole, but sometimes, when the night was still, he could hear it hum—a song that stirred memories of Lyria’s voice. The professors called it the “Echo of the Keeper,” a lingering resonance of the power she had left behind. But Kael knew better. It wasn’t an echo. It was a message. One evening, as the moon reached its zenith, the melody grew stronger. The air shimmered, and the fountain in the courtyard began to glow with silver light. Kael approached cautiously, his heart pounding. The water rippled, forming patterns—symbols of the ancient language of the Veil. He whispered the words aloud, and the world shifted. The courtyard dissolved into a vast expanse of stars. Kael stood on a bridge of light, surrounded by constellations that pulsed like living hearts. In the distance, a figure appeared—Lyria, radiant and calm, her form woven from moonlight. “Kael,” she said, her voice carrying through the void like a song. “The heart of Eldoria beats beyond this sky. The Veil has opened paths to other realms—worlds that remember the first dawn.” Kael took a step forward. “You said the cycle was complete.” “It was,” she replied. “But every ending births another beginning. The balance we restored awakened something greater—the Song of Creation. It calls to those who can hear it.” The stars around them shifted, forming visions of other worlds: a city of crystal towers floating above endless seas, a forest where time flowed backward, a realm of eternal twilight. Each shimmered with the same silver light that once bound Eldoria. Lyria extended her hand. “Eldoria is safe now. But the Veil connects all worlds. If one falters, the harmony breaks. I cannot walk them alone.” Kael hesitated. “You want me to leave this world?” Her smile was gentle. “To protect it, you must understand what lies beyond it.” The bridge of light trembled as the melody swelled, filling the air with warmth and sorrow. Kael reached out, his hand brushing hers. The moment their fingers touched, the stars flared, and the world dissolved into pure radiance. When the light faded, the courtyard was empty once more. Only the fountain remained, its waters glowing faintly with silver light. The next morning, the professors found Kael’s sword resting beside the fountain, its blade etched with new runes—symbols of travel, unity, and dawn. Above the academy, the moon shimmered briefly, splitting into two for the first time since the awakening. Some said it was a sign. Others said it was a farewell. But those who listened closely swore they could hear a faint melody drifting through the night—a song of light and shadow, of endings and beginnings. The Song of the Forgotten Sky had begun.
