“drop your bag" the guard at the city's gates said to Trevor sternly.
Trevor shivered a bit, but then he consoled himself. It isn’t like they'd find out he stole something from someone. The man he stole it from wouldn’t even be smart enough to report to the authorities. Dropping the bag on the table generating a metallic sound, Trevor was filled with confidence. In just a matter of moments now he'd be a freaking rich man.
“search him" the guard said to his companion. The other guard’s hands glowed as he searched all around trevor's body. Except for a card and ring nothing else was found on him.
Trevor fixed his rumpled clothes with his eyes fixated on the bag. The first guard n9ticed the nervous look on Trevor face and figured he must be hiding something, probably in the bag. He loosened the ropes on the bag and opened it wide enough to see what’s inside.
He brought out the first item he could find...A really heavy screw driver, nothing too suspicious. Second was a working microscope. After searching for some times all he could find were tools of the trading business.
A wide smile formed on trevor's face...He had successfully deceived the guard. “can I take my things now?” Trevor asked with a pleased face.
The guard was still unsettled, he felt like he was missing something but he just couldn’t find out what it was. “yes you can” he said, since he couldn’t keep holding him. Besides, there were still others to search.
Trevor smiled and packed his bags, putting all tools in place, he then closed it. Not forgetting to take his ring, he set out for the gates.
“wait!” The guard called just as Trevor was about to cross the gates. Trevor’s body stiffened hearing that, he slowly turned around maintaining a calm look. He did want to give away anything now that he was so close to leaving.
“let me see that ring" the guard demanded.
Trevor’s eyes widened as he stammered “w...wha...what? You m...mean this ri...ring?” he always had this condition of stammering whenever he was agitated.
The guard eyes narrowed seeing trevor’s behaviour when he mentioned the ring. He was sure he had hit the jackpot this time. “take it off” he said.
“it’s j..ju..Just a normal r...ring" Trevor said trying to convince the guard.
“Take it off right now!” The guard was adamant. This man was really hiding something.
“hurry up fatty, you’re holding us up"
“yeah hurry up!” The people on the line started complaining as they shouted at Trevor.
Trevor was sweating buckets at this moment. He had no choice but to take off the ring, who knows what they’d do to him if he didn’t. Besides, it wasn’t like he'd committed a crime or something...
Taking the ring off Trevor gave it to the guard with the glowing hands. The guard with the glowing hands then handed it over to the head guard.
The head guard looked at the ring, it was a normal ring with nothing fancy to speak off. It looked cheap and even had some rust on it.
“The ring belonged to my wife, she gave it to me just moments before her death after I had lost mine.” Trevor said with a pitiful look.
The chief guard paid no heed to Trevor. ‘if it’s your wife ring then why were you so shaky when it was asked from you’ the guard thought and kept searching. At the back of the ring, a little black button was right on it. It couldn’t be noticed except one scrutinized it carefully.
A little been sounded as the guard pressed the button and something like a portal came from the ring with lots of items dropping from it. A long sword red sword caught the eye of the guard ‘isn’t this the sword some reported stolen a while ago?’ the guard thought. He had recognized the sword immediately.
Trevor made a run for it immediately he saw the guard expression. He had to escape as fast as he could.
“seize him!” The guard ordered.
Trevor wasn’t an athletic man and that was his pitfall, in a matter of mere seconds he was restrained by the guards at the gates.
...
Two men and a woman walked the streets, Justin being one of the trio. Asmodieus had offered him a tour of the city after he discovered he was a new resident in the city. Athena sulked, this Justin guy was really getting on her nerves.
“and this here is the best inn in the city. It’s called Plato inn, built by my father, Lord plato" asmodieus said as he pointed his hand as the ten storey building in front of them.
Justin was pleasantly surprised, it seemed like this guy's after was rich. “Ah, it’s nice” he said.
“it really is" asmodieus responded as he led them into the building.
“So, what bought you to Sky feather city?” asmodieus asked as they walked. This man was no ordinary man, he had cut off his arm in their last battle...something not easily done. He had to find out more...maybe result him as one of his.
“I just came here looking for some adventure, that’s all" Justin answered vaguely, he still needed to be careful as he didn’t know these people all too well.
“Lord Asmodieus, Lady Athena, Esteemed sir" a man wearing a tuxedo at the inn door bowed.
“Daniel" asmodieus touched the man’s shoulder. “you may rise"
“Thank you Lord asmodieus" the man said and raised his head. He opened the door welcoming the three in.
A beautiful view was revealed to the trio. Noble men and women relaxed while a soothing music was being played by a group of musicians in a corner. The wine was carried all around, given to those who needed.
“please take a sit while I go inform the manager of your presence" the man said as he bowed and hurriedly went off.
