Chapter 80

"One down...eight more to go" Justin wiped the little amount of blood that dripped down his head.

Looking at the state of the man he had caused he wondered when he had become this violence. He wasn't always like this. Even though the man had annoyed him and all, he had never planned to go this far. He had lost control of himself. But anyway...the deed was done.

The man gradually disappeared leaving an amount of dust. The blue liquid in the gloves which had gotten brighter over time dimmed.

Justin exited the pathway focusing on the job ahead. The other had already started moving as fast as they could. No one knew the required number of fruits, it could be ten, twenty or thirty no one knew. He had to stop them before any funny thing could happen.

As a certified man, after choosing path six for his first kill, justin choose the obvious next number...Path nine(?)

Lin xue ran as fast as he could he could. Someone had already been eliminated so quickly, he couldn't waste time dwindling. By common logic, the inspectors would obviously be stronger than the normal candidates. Even if they weren't, the augmenting equipments spoken about earlier would make it so. He had already picked more than ten fruits and was still going.

Immediately, he sensed another presence alongside him. Dodging to the side, a double bladed sword passed by his face making a massive hole in the ground it stuck to.

A chain was tied to the middle handle of the blade and it tugged, bringing it back from the ground to Lin xue's face.

Lin xue waved his fan, deflecting the force of the sword. He kept moving, not interested in who it was that had shown up. They wouldn't hamper his progress, not now...not ever!

"Lin sect practitioner!" A hard bass voice called out.

Lin xue stopped immediately, recognising the owner of the voice. He turned around and looked only to see grindel's large frame.

The man who had killed his brother years ago had come for him also. Maybe it destiny, or fate, or just merely coincidence...only thing sure here was he wasn't letting this man get out alive.

"Took me quite a while but I stopped it" grindel touched his side as he looked at lin xue. He referred to the poison earlier inflicted on him by lin xue during their battle.

Lin xue took down his mask and placed it on the floor. Taking his fan and knife in his hands he stared down at grindel. "I want you to see the man of the man who killed you" he said.

He had already mapped out a plan for any inspector that came. He chose the immunity option that lasted for ten second. And with his fan and poison, he could make use of that option. Usually one never blocked while attacking so that would give him an opening in grindel's defense.

Grindel laughed at what Lin xue said. He was fully loaded now,with this double edged blade and the giant gloves his attacks were nigh godly. He would be done with Lin xue in a matter of minutes...just like that pathetic bastard he killed long ago.

Being mocked just made lin xue all the more angry as he ran swiftly at grindel. Grindel was never one to back down as he himself charged. The blade in his left and the glove free on the right, he was aiming for a two hit wonder.

The abilities of this particular double edged blade were fatal. The most dangerous was it's ability to deliver up to a thousand plus damage if it's used to strike a vital part of a candidate's body most especially the head. Only downside was it was a one time banger. So he decided to use it on who he needed to the most....lin xue!

The fan in lin xue's hands increased as he sent them heading for grindel. Grindel hit away some while the other met their end in the metallic giant gloves but lin xue was unconcerned. He had as many fans as he wanted.

It became a festival of flying bladed fans that moment. Fans surrounded grindel left right and center barring his way towards lin xue and taking away his sights.

Grindel pushed forward, hitting ad hard as he could but it was like the more he destroyed the more they came.

Lin xue held the pocket knife in his hand waiting for the perfect moment to strike. He watched as grindel struggled through the blockade, getting angrier by the minute. Then when he faltered, that opening came.

Taking advantage of the moment,ghe fans all disappeared as a flash of light enlarged in grindel's view. The pocket knife hit grindel deeply, piercing him in the same side he had manged to cure just a while ago.

Taking the knife out, lin xue stabbed again in a second place increasing the damage. A whooping three hundred points was deducted from grindel's hp leaving him at one thousand two hundred points. His health bar had turned blue now.

Red lines spread from those stabbed places travelling to his heart.

Grindel immediately retreated as far away as he could from lin xue. The longer he stayed near lin xue, the faster the lines would travel and if the lines reached his heart then he'd be dead.

Ten points were deducted each second he stayed close to lin xue so he retreated.

But lin xue was not for that. He ram towards grindel as fast as he could and shoulder tackled him to the ground.

Grindel panicked and tried to hit lin xue away with the gloves but it was like the man was a tree with roots as deep enough they reached the planet's core. Lin xue had activated the self immunity!

Grabbing onto grindel like his life depended on it lin xue kept stabbing as he ignored the hits from grindel. The lines increased so much that they were now all over grindel's body.

In a short amount of time, one of the lines reached grindel's heart and he coughed up blood. One, two, five, fifteen, they increased in number.

Grindel's mouth was filled with blood as he coughed uncontrollably. His health points were reducing like crazy.

Lin xue knew the time of grindel's death was near so he stabbed his heart planning to make do on his promise.

With the poison already weakening him, grindel was like a defenseless chicken.

Lin xue carved his way into grindel's chest and dug his hand inside. He grabbed a certain pulsing organ and then pulled.

Grindel's eyes widened as blood came out from his nose and mouth.

Lin xue raised the organ high, showing the beating heart of grindel. Grindel's eyes moved a bit as he saw his own heart beating outside his chest...then the world darkened.
