Chapter 40

“Let him in” lord lee ordered. One of the council elders then got up and opened the door.

The guard rushed inside as he knelt with one knee of on the floor and his head bowed. “Sire news arrives from your first daughter's maid servants”

“what is it? It better be something worth my time or your blood will paint these floors” Lord Lee threatened.

The guard shivered at the words but he knew the new he brought were of utmost priority. “My Lord, the lady has been taken hostage by the man who was held prisoner a day ago”

“what?!” The elders of the council exclaimed. The Lord's daughter taken hostage by a prisoner?

Ontaro stood up and slammed his hands on the table. “where is she?!”

“My lord she is currently held hostage in her quarters. But they say the man is currently on his way outside the Lord’s mansion”the guard answered.

Lord Lee was silent as he held back his anger. “and how did this man escape from the prison I put him?”

“My Lord that is currently unknown. This guard rushed here immediately he heard the news and did not have time to make investigations”

Lord Lee shook his head. Ontaro was fuming as he asked the guard. “what does he want with my sister!”

“My lord, the man demands a sum of fifty thousand manbres be given to him. He says if his demands are not met then he would kill the princess”

“He dares!” The old elder from earlier stood up in anger. The rest of the elders were also outraged at the news.

“we shall meet layer. For now, you all can leave” Lord Lee dismissed the meeting.

The elders, although they wanted to know more about the situation, couldn’t go against Lord Lee’s orders and they all left the room.

After the elders had left, only three remained in the room. Lord Lee pointed at the guard and spoke “Take me to him”

“yes my Lord” the guard obeyed, got up on his feet and led the way.

*Task window: twenty six minutes, forty two seconds remaining* the system alerted Justin. His time was gradually running out.

As Justin waited by the mansion gates, an uneasy feeling slowly spread about him. He couldn’t shake it off, like his life was being threatened.

A thin needle like sword flew through the air at an alarming rate. It headed straight to Justin’s neck.

Justin was fast to react as he suited a little bit, bringing selina right in front of the sword tip.

The sword abruptly stopped in mid air just right when it was about to pierce selina's neck.

“nah uh, next time you try anything funny I promise you her blood will flow” Justin clicked his tongue as he faced the man who had thrown the sword.

“you will pay for this” Ontaro stretched him arm out, calling back the sword. He gritted his teeth as stared at Justin.

“No no, YOU will pay for this as you can see i have your sister. And you'll have to pay to get her back so I’m afraid you’re in the wrong here hehe” Justin said as he summoned the emperor’s chain and placed the spikey top on selina's neck drawing out a little bit of blood.

“ah” selina gasped at the pain as she struggled to set herself free.

“careful now, you just might cut yourself” Justin whispered in selina's ears.

Lord Lee hovered above the rest, his hands behind his back as his robes flowed in the wind. “what do you want”

Justin looked up at Lord Lee, a smile forming on his face. “not too much...i just want fifty thousand manbres and that’s all” he said.

“And you promise you’ll set my daughter free after I give you what you ask for?” Lord Lee spoke in a calm manner.

“ I swear on my life” Justin replied the man. He needed the money as fast as he could get it.

“hmmm” Lord Lee nodded. In a flash he disappeared from his location, taking about ten second before he appeared again. In his hands was a bag which he threw at Justin “there is your money”

Justin avoided the bag with care. “you, come open this for me” he pointed at one of the maids nearby.

Lord Lee’s eyes narrowed at justin’s actions. Indeed he was a clever man.

“as the maid opened the bag, the colour on her face paled. Her whole body drying up and her eyes rolling to the back of her head. She dropped dead right in front of Justin.

“you b***h!” Justin brought the emperor's chain closer to selina's neck, the blood coming out increased. “I swear you try something of that sort again and I’ll take your daughter's life with mine!” Justin was relieved. That f*****g b***h had tried to kill him!

“you dare insult my fath....” Ontaro was about to reprimand Justin when Lord Lee stopped him.

“I admire your courage young man” Lord Lee spoke and waved his hands, another bag appearing in his hand. He opened it himself, revealing the coins in it. Then he threw it at Justin.

“That right there is fifty thousand manbres, the sum you asked for. Now release my daughter”

Justin used his feet and dragged the bag to himself. As soon as he did that, the system notification came up alerting him of the completed task.

A broad smile formed on his face following that. Since he had completed the task...he was free to do some other things.

“not so fast, I’m sorry but this amount won’t be enough to solve my problems...how bout you add another fifty thousand” Justin said with a sly expression...he was extorting these bastards!

Ontario’s face changed but he didn’t dare speak seeing as Lord Lee had no reaction.

Lord Lee, without question, waved his hands and another bag appeared. He opened it again showing proof of coins in it.

As Justin got the next bag, his smile got wilder. “ah I just remembered I have another situation I’ll need the money for. I’m afraid I’ll need a hundred thousand more!”

“you man without honor!” Ontaro was ready to kill Justin right there. He had asked for only fifty thousand a while ago now he asks for a hundred thousand more. Even though the money isn’t that high...it’s still something!

“money or he neck” justin yawned with a couldn’t care less look. He was just starting they hadn’t seen nothing yet!

“hmph!” Lord Lee snorted and he waved his hand again. Another bag bigger than the last appeared in his hands. He repeated the same procedure and threw the money at Justin.

Justin nodded his head in approval. “well, as a commoner that I am, I’m very poor and I need to survive. I’m afraid you’ll have to add five hundred thousand more” Justin made a dangerous request. Since they were so rich, then they could spare some for him, couldn’t they?

“father, this man exhorts you and you let it happen?” Ontaro questioned his father. Atleast he could do something other than just willingly give Justin the money.

Lord Lee was unconcerned. He had no issue with that. His daughter's life was paramount.

As usual he handed the money over to Justin whose surroundings were now full of bags with coins.

‘yo system, is five hundred thousand really in that bag’ Justin asked since he was unsure. The man could be scamming him and he wouldn’t be aware.

*the bag given to host holds an amount of five hundred thousand manbres*

‘woah! This peeps really value this girl. Seems I’ll have to go for another’ Justin’s creepiness knew no bounds. If he could get it then what was stopping him?

He coughed twice then said. “for my last and final requirement, I’d require five million manbres to leave your daughter unhar....”

“And what makes you think I have such amount?!” Lord Lee couldn’t take it anymore. This man had jumped from five hundred to five million. If he kept giving him, he would keep asking!

“you’re rich aren’t you? Even your daughter is rich enough to spend more than ten million on an amulet. Certainly, you’d have more than that in store.” Justin said as he looked at the amulet on selina's neck.

“I do not have such amount in hand” Lord Lee hardened his face.

“alright then. Say bye bye to your sweet daughter” Justin nodded his head and threatened to cut of selina’s neck.

“Wait!” Lord Lee stopped him. With a sigh he continued on “I do have an object of that worth in hand” he bargained.

Justin stopped his hands interested in what the man had to offer. “what object is that?”

Lord Lee disappeared without answering. Taking a long while before he came back. He held a battle axe, it’s blade reflecting the light of the sun. The handle of the axe was a bright green colour that radiated life. Seeming to come in contrast to the blood thirsty look of the axe.

“this is a top grade weapon called the Elvian Beast Battle Axe. It’s blade is powerful enough to cut through the sharpest of steel and penetrate the toughest of defenses. Some say it has a connection to the elvian king” Lord Lee brandished the axe. “I’m willing to exchange this for my daughter”

Justin eyes shone as he looked at the axe. It was really appealing to the eyes. Very appealing!

‘System, how much is that axe worth?’

*Weapon is worth roughly six million manbres*

“alright then, give it to me” once he got confirmation, he wasted no time in accepting.

Lord Lee hesitated “how do I know you’ll release my daughter and not asks for something else again?”

“I don’t know, you’ll just have to trust me hehe” Justin said looking very untrustworthy.

Lord Lee had no choice but to comply. He threw the axe at Justin with a tint of killing intent.

Justin carefully caught the axe as he sampled it. It felt nice to hold...almost like he was born to wield it.

“alright now b***h, i hope you’ve learnt your lesson.” Justin said to selina and prepared to let her go.

As he was about to let her go, a certain thought crossed his mind. There was a possibility of going away with even more!

He carefully held her in his grip and opened the mansion gates, stepping outside and preparing for escape.

Ontaro readied his sword, Lord Lee’s eyes glowed. Once this bastard let go of selina, they were going to attack!

In the fastest he could move, Justin grabbed the amulet from selina’s neck and made a run for it.

“activate stealth freak mini skill!” He shoulder out loud.

Ontaro threw his sword as Lord Lee moved with great speed, flashing past selina.

Just in the nick of time, the stealth freak mini skill activated and Justin vanished from the eyes of everyone!
