Chapter 83

Athena crunched her hand and the walls enclosed. The ones who weren't ready were squeezed as they struggled to breathe.

Ronald was already watchful earlier so when the walls appeared suddenly, he put up a shield that resisted the enclosing force.

*Candidate 55 has been eliminated*

*Candidate 13 has been eliminated*

*Candidate 201 has been eliminated*

Three consecutive messages appeared in the air. These eliminated candidates were all from athena's section. They had been caught off guard in their ways of gathering fruits.

Athena was still imbued with power ad she primarily focused on Ronald. Although she had gained control of the dimension, she didn't have full power over it so what she could do through it was a bit limited.

Ronald struggled to move through the blockade as he shield scratched along the walls.

Willing it, the space in the dimension warped and athena disappeared from her current position reaching Ronald instantly.

Ronald was less than prepared for the attack as he was still struggling to even move.

A large hand grabbed him and slammed him to the ground. The walls had stopped enclosing as athena stopped focusing on them.

Ronald touched down with his face to the ground. He landed very hard!

Athena appeared next to him instantly again and dug her long claws into his back forming five holes. Ronald screamed as he jerked his hand, swinging his elbow at athena's face.

Athena had seen it coming, she stopped the elbow with her left and dug in all the more.

Ronald screamed in agony, he was suppressed and dominated and had no way of getting out. Widening his palms and stretching out his palms he called out for something.

A low humming sound reverberated through the area. It humming sound stopped as soon as it reached its loudest and then out of nowhere a hammer came knocking directly into athena's face.

Athena was sent off of Ronald back as she crashed to the floor, struggled to maintain her balance and then stopped.

Surprise was written on her face as she wondered why she hadn't sensed the hammer coming.

*Unhinged effect has ended* the monotonous voice in the dimension spoke to her.

Ronald spun his hammer generating wind and raising a large amount of debrus, then he released it. The spin gave it more momentum that ever.

Athena got into stance, this hammer wouldn't be as easy to stop as the first time.

The hammer announced violence as it charged, ripping through space like it was a thin sheet of paper.

Athena clapped her hands summoning the giant hand made of mana. The giant hand positioned itself in front of her, ready to take the full brunt of the hammer.

Athena channeled all her force to the hand, her plan was to break the Hanmer after stopping it. She would have to do that as fast a she could before Ronald withdrew it.

The time had finally come for the clash of fate to occur. A violent shock wave was released as the hand clashed with the hammer.

Athena was pushed several metres back as she struggled to withstand the sheer force of the hammer's advancement.

She withstood it for a while before the hammer lost its momentum. And then she grabbed it. As she clenched her hand intending on utterly destroying the hammer, a hand grabbed her neck from behind.

"calm down beauty" Ronald whispered as he gently squeezed athena's neck.

Athena stiffened as the large hand dissipated.

"You win" she said as she breathed steadily, he hand sneakily moving.

"Don't" Ronald squeezed more tightly.

Athena stopped her movement and raiser her hand to the sky finally giving up. "you win...."

"heh...." Ronald sighed in relief and swiftly hit her on a point in the neck. Athena immediately lost consciousness after receiving said hit as he body relaxed in ronald's arms.

He had no way of eliminating her without extreme violence and considering their history, he decided against that. He special knockout would last about twenty minutes which would be ample time for him to get her the required fruits according to his calculations.

Placing her back to rest on the wall, Ronald kept her hammer by her side so it would detect any movement from her. He now had twenty minutes to win.

Freddy was one of the lucky ones to have survived athena's three hit kill. After that attack it seemed like nothing could stop his advancement again. Smiles formed on his face as he happily ran, picking up all fruits he could see. He was lucky to even progress to this round.

He had next to no point previously, but he had chanced upon someone who was gravely injured but have thirty points. He took the chance and killed it, hereby taking his points. Now here he is, fate pampering him like the golden child of destiny.

One in particular shone so bright he just had to pick it. It was like a voice spoke in his head urging him to take the fruit. The beauty of it was so alluring he just couldn't resist.

He stretched his hand and plucked the fruit from the tree. As he was about the keep the fruit in his storage ring, that same voice called to him.

What would it taste like? How would a golden fruit as beautiful as this taste like? Sour? Bitter? Sweet? Why shouldn't he just...try it?

The golden light the fruit gave of reflected in his eyes as he brought it closer to his mouth. Taking a massive bite out a it, a wonderful taste was realized by his taste buds.

Oh the grace, the sweet nectar of life right here in his palms.

He kept rushing the fruit like a fool crazed maniac. Soon it was all gone.

"What? where'd it all go?....more....I need more!!" he rushed around as he tried desperately to find another as beautiful as it. Soon he found another like it and he plunge into its flesh.

One after another he kept devouring, slowly but surely his mind kept getting ever corrupted.
