"But..." Anthony paused, looking over to the arch leading into the corridor as a nasty grip spread on his face. I couldn't tell if he was thinking anything good or bad.
But I knew he wasn't about to say anything good.
"Are you planning on pursuing him? I mean, I wouldn't be surprised... he does get women. They just don't last long" He asked in an almost innocent manner. As though he was genuinely curious, But I could tell he was already going to say something next.
It didn't matter the answer.
"No. Not in the slightest." I shrugged, looking down at my nails as I expected him to shame me.
I've never been the type of woman to do one night stands or use someone just to satisfy myself at the time. It was never my nature to be this way and he just happened to have gotten the chance to witness my downfall.
"Good." He said and I looked up to witness his sadistic grin as he leaned over the counter. His form towered over me like a beast ready to devour its prey. "I want you to use him."
Did I hear correctly?
"Use my brother, manipulate him. I want to see if his cold heart still beats and how long it can take to break it entirely." I watch him giggle evilly at his own plan and I couldn't help but feel uneasy.
I didn't want to end up dead.
"I've never seen a side of him completely shattered by someone... I want to see it.." His eyes dropped down to me and he smirked. "I'll pay you. Every month.."
"The goal is to just see your brother heartbroken?"
"You don't get it, do you?" He chuckled as he sat down across from me, leaning on the counter. "A man as strong as him falling for a woman only creates a window of opportunity for his enemies. Some women died just from being around him but he hardly flinched hearing their deaths. But imagine if he actually fell in love... and she got taken away... mhm, what a beast that would make."
I could tell he was getting excited just at the thought of torturing his brother's emotions.
He truly isn't normal.
He enjoys other's pain.
"I want to see what beast he'd become. He's scary now... but how demonic can he get..."
I shudder, feeling the drive within him was creepy and unsettling.
"So... I won't get hurt... right?" I asked as I started to play with my fingers. "I don't want to get hurt doing this. It's not even safe to play with anyone's feelings... especially... a man with that much power."
"Oh, trust me, he's not one to hurt women unless the woman tries to kill him." He smirks. "Him hurting you just because you're hurting him emotionally will only force him to admit he's a wuss. And he'd rather die than do that."
I looked away, still unsure if it was even safe to do anything that reckless.
"Here." He said as his girlfriend slid an envelope of cash towards me.
I didn't notice she had walked away at one point, but apparently she did and was already sorting out the money... talk about motivation.
This couple is crazy.
I dropped my gaze down to the envelope and gasped in shock at how thick it already was. I didn't even need to check to know how much it was.
It was more than I could willing count.
"Every month." He smirked as he raised a brow. "It's a harmless banter between brothers. Come-on. That's easy money."
"No." I shook my head. "I can't..."
He pointed and pushed the envelope closer to me.
"You won't get this amount of money elsewhere. Besides, you wouldn't want to leech off of a Mafia forever right? find your cozy job, earn some money before you move out and retire young. Come-on."
I stared down at the envelope and swallowed with difficulty. He was right, I was leeching off of a dangerous man and moving out as soon as possible was going to be the better option.
As long as it's money earned right...
"Okay." I nodded and carefully opened the envelope. "But you need to swear to protect me at all times... I don't want to get hurt..."
"I won't even let a strand of hair cut that pretty face of yours." He chuckled and leaned back as he smirked. "You'll be a rich young woman."
I frowned at him and cleared my throat, only to have his girlfriend reach down and snatch the envelope from me.
"He's coming. I'll keep this in the meantime." She winked and hurried out of the kitchen, only for her presence to get immediately replaced by the large and tall figure if the man I'd just made a deal with the devil for.
Shirtless...
Gosh this man was really made for sin. His eyes were like a serpent's, trying to lure it's unsuspecting victims into the clutches of its teeth and bite down into their very soul.
His body looked warm, something anyone would want to melt into and never peel form.
I unconsciously bit my lip as I watched him walk over to the sink and fill himself a glass of water. I watched as his muscles twitched and flexed, almost as though on purpose.
I hadn't noticed at the time that Anthony was staring at me with a smirk playing on his lips. It was only when Dylan had moved past Anthony did I notice his smirk.
I cleared my throat as I could feel the heat rush into my cheeks, knowing I had been caught staring at him like he was the last drop of water in a stormy dessert.
Why did I accept to do this again...?
"So, any plans?"
I snapped when I heard Anthony ask and he wasn't looking at me, but at Dylan who was cracking some eggs by the time and trying to fry himself an omelette.
He didn't answer at first as he seemed more focused on heating the frying pan before pouring a slice of butter and the eggs.
"Of what?"
Anthony hummed for a moment clearly pretending not to know what he's talking about himself.
"The woman. She says she'll stay. Probably took a kin interest in you." He said, and I knew he was referring to me, but I only sat there and glanced over at him for a brief moment before looking over at Dylan who seemed tense.
It could just be me...
"That's none of your business." Dylan said coldly, resuming his cooking after his short second pause.
How was I supposed to seduce a man who didn't seem so open?
