Shadow Ares Reveal

1451 Words
Andreas stood by the entrance of an old building that looked long abandoned. Heavy rain poured from the sky that afternoon, creating a gurgling sound that seemed to add to the tension in the air. Andreas was contemplating something. The secret mission. “I must complete the secret mission immediately,” Andreas resolved. He didn't want to procrastinate in his little time. In his hand, a microtransmitter vibrated softly. It was a device that was usually only used in highly classified situations. There was no signal from his team, no further information. All the information he received from General Sinclair was very limited, even his orders sounded more like a threat than a mission. “Let's do it!” Andreas tried to encourage himself. With a deep breath, Andreas slipped into the old building, his eyes scanning every corner. His instincts as the best commander in the field taught him to always be vigilant, always anticipating attacks from the shadows. His steps halted for a moment. He heard a faint sound from inside the building. Something was moving fast. Suddenly, a heavy voice sounded from behind him. “You shouldn't have come, Andreas.” The man emerged from the darkness, wearing a black mask that covered most of his face. His voice was deep and scary, as if it came from deep underground. The alert Andreas immediately drew his weapon, but the man quickly raised his hand. “We knew you would come, Andreas. Unfortunately, you're too late. The weapon is already active,” the man informed him. Andreas frowned, feeling his heart racing. “The weapon? What do you mean?” Andreas' voice sounded a little hoarse, but firm. Andreas could feel the tension welling up in him at this moment, but he would not show his weakness in front of the enemy. It was time to act, not hesitate, he thought firmly. The man did not answer. Instead, he pressed a button on his right hand, and suddenly the entire room around them was immersed in total darkness. Andreas regulated his breathing, trying to calm himself down so as not to be careless in his actions. He had been in this kind of precarious situation too many times. Only his instincts and intelligence would get him out of here alive. The whirring of the engine grew louder, echoing off the cold walls. Andreas could feel it, something big was moving beneath the surface. Every second was more precious than anything else. His mission now wasn't just about information or intel, it was about survival. He had to be able to complete the mission, he was determined. “Who are you?” Andreas asked the man. He did his best to keep the tension out of his voice, trying to read the man's movements even in the darkness. “My name is not important,” the man replied, his voice conspiratorial, “What is important is that you will not make it out of here alive.” Andreas felt the air around his body turn to pressure, threats coming from all directions. Quickly, he counted down in his head. Every step had to be calculated. If he didn't move soon, he would be caught in the trap that had been prepared for him. Suddenly, the sound of running footsteps could be heard in the distance. Andreas knew it wasn't the man's voice. There was something bigger, more threatening coming towards him. There was someone other than the man in that old building. With his body filled with tension and his mind working fast, Andreas made a decision: he had to get out of here and find out what was going on with the ‘weapon’ immediately. However, as he turned to run, an explosion shook the floor below him, making the rooms in the old building begin to collapse and the walls rumble. Andreas was thrown to the floor, his body hit hard, but he could still hear the man's voice laughing, as if he had anticipated everything. “In this game, you have lost, Andreas,” the man said with great satisfaction. He was laughing at Andreas who had fallen for the bait. Andreas' heart skipped a beat. He knew the trap had been set for him. He had to survive. If necessary, he had to win the battle. He wouldn't just give in to the enemy. Andreas stepped forward with his eyes fixed on the man in front of him. The atmosphere of the room shook with a tension that almost exploded. The heavy rain outside was getting heavier, making faint rumbling sounds from behind the cracked walls of the old building. The man stood straight with a cold, demon-like smile, his hand ready to press another detonator button that could potentially bring even more destruction. “Is he not fighting back?” Without thinking, Andreas leapt forward like a bolt of lightning, swinging a hard punch that slammed into the man's face. The sound of bone meeting bone echoed through the cramped room. The man staggered, but immediately retaliated with a brutal strike that nearly crashed into Andreas' jaw. With quick reflexes, Andreas ducked and countered with a spin kick to the man's ribs, sending him crashing with a loud thud to the floor. A scuffle ensued between the two men. “That weapon. Where is it? Tell me, you bastard!” Andreas shouted, his tone full of piercing intensity. However, before the man could reply, the sound of heavy footsteps began to echo down the metal staircase leading to the room where they were fighting. Andreas only had a few seconds before the door behind him slammed open. Five men dressed in black with automatic weapons entered and immediately surrounded him. Without thinking, Andreas jumped to the side and took cover behind a nearby wooden crate, bullets whizzing past where he stood. “Andreas, you're going to die here,” one of the men said, his voice husky and full of certainty. Andreas just smiled slightly, his fingers quickly transferring the bullet clip to the gun in his hand. He was used to it and could handle it. “You have no idea who you're dealing with right now.” With lightning-fast movements, Andreas emerged from behind a crate and fired three shots straight at the two nearest men, knocking them out instantly. They didn't know that Andreas was a sniper in his military unit. His shots never misfired, which is why his achievements in the military were always praised by the general. Before the rest of his attackers could react, Andreas ran into the wall, pushing his body to bounce off and kicking another man so hard that he was thrown into the concrete wall. “No one can stand in my way. You will die at my hands,” Andreas warned the criminals. The number of enemies grew, too many to even fight him. Two more men managed to restrain his movements, striking him with hard fists to the ribs and back. Andreas staggered, blood on the corners of his lips, but his eyes remained full of fire. “s**t!” cursed Andreas. He began to growl and counterattacked. Andreas grabbed the hand of one of the men holding him, twisting it until it sounded like bones breaking. The man screamed in pain as Andreas used his body as a shield from the incoming bullets. As Andreas was cornered, there was a small explosion at the back door of the building, followed by a flash of white smoke that blinded the entire room. A group of shadows moved quickly amidst the chaos. One by one, the gunmen surrounding Andreas fell to the unexpected onslaught of kicks, punches, and gunshots coming from directions he had not expected at all. “Captain Andreas! Come out!” A firm yet familiar voice broke through the noise. Breathing heavily, Andreas ran out of the room as the smoke began to clear. He saw the silhouette of a tall man wearing a black leather jacket, and next to him, a woman with a sharp gaze and a still smoking gun in her hand. The woman was Tania Hamilton. Andreas didn't have time to ask how they had turned up in time. The old building began to crumble behind them. Andreas jumped out of the window, landing hard on the wet ground, under the pouring rain. He turned his head for a moment, watching the building slowly crumble like a symbol of a threat that had not yet completely vanished. With no time to celebrate this small victory, Andreas fled with his new team into the darkness of the night, with the threat still looming and the mission just beginning.
