Kids are always so sensitive. Maybe after spending these past days together, he noticed there’s something different between me and Henry compared to how I am with his dad, so now he’s extra anxious.
A child his age shouldn’t have to carry so much on his shoulders, especially after just having surgery. So I gave him a gentle kiss on the forehead and said, “Don’t worry, okay? Even if I don’t end up marrying your dad, I’ll still be here for you whenever you need me.”
