Lilli wasn't like other girls, sure she had some of the same interests but she was still different. She didn't follow the social status and for some reason loved math. But she was friendly to everyone she met, including Sasha. She wasn't all about the way you look or how cool you were, it was about you. Who you were.
The weeks turned into months and soon they were the it couple. When they walked through the halls people would stare.
Jealousy.
Sasha was of course jealous but she kept on the façade of liking Brain so that she wasn't lonely. She also did it so that she could attempt to make Jay jealous. But Lillie and Jay were happy. There was no other way to put it.
But one day it was different. Everyone except Lillie was acting weird.
Jay's POV:
I walked into school like every other day, I immediately knew something was wrong. I wasn't getting the normal stares and whispers of omg here comes Jay, please talk to me.
Bro, I wish I could be friends with Jay he is so cool.
They were more whispers of fear and anticipation. What was going on?
I shrugged it off and walked up to my best friend Brian, "Hey bro what's up?"
Brian jumped. "Hey. Um," he said slowly then looked at his phone, "Sorry I have to go Sasha just texted me."
But he didn't get a notification? Seriously what is going on with everyone. I walked up to my locker and started getting out the books I needed when I suddenly smelt her. The intoxicating smell of my girlfriend.
"Lillie!" I turned to see my gorgeous girl standing next me.
"Hey hot stuff," she said kissing me. I smiled back at her but didn't say anything. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing. Well, everyone is acting different," I said looking at her thinking I was going insane.
She laughed. "I think you might be having an off day. You aren't sick are you?" She asked putting her hand against my forehead playfully. "You're actually burning up. Are you okay?"
I grabbed her arm and took in a long sniff of it. She gave me a weird look. I grabbed the back of her neck and kissed her. I pushed her against the lockers and licked her lip. What was wrong with me?
For a moment she didn't fight back then seemed to remember we were at school and pushed me off.
"Babe, we are in the middle of a hallway," she shook her head seriously but had a smirk on her face.
"Sorry, but I just-" I stopped. What did I need?
"Are you sure your ok Jay?" She asked again. Her face was filled with worry but I couldn't talk to her. I would lose control again. I didn't say anything but I slammed my locker shut and walked to the front gate.
I was hot. I took my jersey off dropping it on the ground trying to suck in every breath. I put my arm against the cold black metal trying to steady myself. I was swaying, I couldn't stand straight.
I felt a hand glide over my shoulder and I immediately relaxed. I looked back. Lillie's emerald green eyes locked with mine. Her ash blonde hair perfectly shaped her face, making her other features more defined.
"Jay?" She asked standing in front of me.
I just looked at her, her arm fell. "Baby, what's going on?" She tried again.
My eyes closed for a second and I felt my eyelids fight to stay open. She wasn't touching me anymore. "Lillie," I whispered her name my voice trailing off as my knees threatened to buckle.
Suddenly her hands were on my shoulder's and my body bolted awake. Her hands momentarily retracted, "We should get you home."
I looked at her, I knew she was right, but I wanted to stay with her. "Stay with me," I growled. It was more demanding then asking. She blinked a couple of times.
"Yeah ok," was all she said as she picked up my jacket. "Come on, we can take my car."
Faintly I heard the bell go off but we both ignored it and walked to the student car park. Lillie had a small yellow bug. She helped me into the passenger seat.
"Jay, why didn't your parents tell you to stay home?" She asked as she sat in the drivers seat starting the car.
"They tried to," I started moving my hand to Lillie's thigh, "but I ran out the door before they could stop me."
She shook her head but didn't say anything as she drove me home.
