Dilemma untold

830 Words
In the morning the next day after his birthday, around 8AM. Morncloud was all set for work. He woke up a bit late, feeling groggy due to the fun he had the day before, making him get to work late. He works as an Head cleaner in an art gallery. The art gallery was built close to a museum, 7 minutes walk away. His dad already left for work earlier. Too early for him to wake his son up for work. Thankfully, Morncloud had a bicycle. On his way to work, riding on his bicycle, Morncloud’s mind couldn't help but drift back his conversation with his dad the night before. He just couldn't get it out of his head, making him even more mentally exhausted. With not too much hassle, he safely got to work, nimbly avoiding questioning gazes, even though he almost tripped close to 4 times on his way. On his way to the equipment room where things like the cleaning tools are kept, he could notice some few curious gazes from his colleagues and friends like 'you look worked up man.. what's up' The most intense gaze of them all was from the manager, Miss Evelyn, whom he wasn’t expecting to meet at the entrance to his final destination even after all his nimble ‘escape’. Pausing her speech then silently stared at him, making him even feel more uncomfortable. Few seconds later, she averted her gaze from him, freeing him from the pressure, choosing not to question him why he was late for some reasons as she proceeded with her conversation. Grabbing the opportunity like a life saving straw, he dashed into the room before hastily changing into his work outfit. He got to work immediately. The whole day at work went by smoothly without any mishaps.. just not the whole day. Morncloud got off work around 6PM as usual and decided to not branch anywhere else but to head home. Morncloud was an ambivert but he mostly spend his time indoor, he enjoys his silence. His life is not boring as long as he could remember for, but it’s not too thrilling as well. Soon, the sound of water splashes could be heard, he could be seen taking a warm shower immediately he got home. He walked naked to his room after he was done. ‘Dad won’t be back anytime soon’ He thought to himself while climbing into his bed with his phone device in hand, and a box of chips on the desk at the edge of the bed. Half an hour into his relaxed state, he could be seen sleeping, silently snoring. Without knowing exactly for how long he has been sleeping for, he abruptly opened his eyes, confusion written all over his face. A feeling of discomfort and unusual goosebumps drowned him for a few moment before it disappears like it was never there, but it didn't stop there. This phenomenon kept on repeating itself, with a fluctuating rhythm as it kept on jolting him awake quite a few times. Finding it strange, he decided to wash his face up or perhaps retake a shower. Slowly walking into the bathroom, thinking he'd be okay after refreshing up. Unknown to him, this was just the beginning and the least of the strange phenomenon that was to happen to him. Washing his face a few times as he stared at himself from the wide mirror in front of him, he exhaled deeply, calming his nerves. Turning his back, he suddenly noticed something weird. A blur structure of something, standing beside him. Not one, not two but numbering up to tens, standing in a slant line accordingly. The first blur structure visible than the next. Their structure was like a human's but with glowing eyes. Most of them with purple glowing eyes. The remaining few of them have different menacing colours to their eye glows, female-like but wasn't confirmed cause the next moment they vanished. "Holy s**t" "Oh my god" "Oh my god.. I’m going crazy tonight" Morncloud subconsciously cursed as he rushed out of the bathroom in fear of the unknown. He almost s**t his pants. Not until he entered his room and closed the door behind him did he calm down a little but the fear still lingers, prompting him to look around suspiciously several times. The rest of the night was incomprehensible for him. The following days did not went by without Morncloud's sightings of the blurs. It only got worse, sometimes three different sightings a day, one vivid than the one before. He didn't even tell his father yet.. he chose not to. His dad's got enough worries in his mind. So then it starts. The strange phenomenon started haunting him everyday like a plague, for weeks, giving him a mental torture he had to suffer alone. Strange and stranger hallucinations making him doubt his sanity. And who could he tell when he couldn't handle it anymore except his father...
