“Friends?” Theophilus scoffed, his expression unchanged as he looked at Pandora: "Do you think you’re worthy? Worthy of being friends with me?”

Pandora’s beautiful eyes widened in disbelief, staring at Theophilus. Was there actually a man bold enough to say that a smart and beautiful young mistress of the Jones family, like her, wasn’t worthy of being his friend?
"How dare you! Theophilus, do you want to die? What is the status of the young mistress? She gives you respect and you dare say she’s not worthy to be your friend?" Clement angrily said.
In his mind, not to mention the young mistress’s status, even if it were just him stepping in, that useless fellow should have shown respect and politeness. Yet he dared to be so arrogant and haughty.
