(Elizabeth's POV)
I jolted awake to see, Anthony walking in followed by a handful of kids, ages varying from ten to thirteen. As they walked in I took in their state, clothes covered in old blood, ripped like they had been fighting, or something, and their eyes, fogged over. I could hear soft growls coming from them, one even smiled at me, they had long teeth, and sharp.
Very slowly I got to my feet and looked around, like hungry animals they just waited to be released by their master. I looked at Anthony, who was grinning from to ear to ear, and smelled the air.
"Awww, you do feel fear, I guess you're not so fearless as I thought."
"What's this now?" I asked pointing at the kids, he patted one on the shoulder.
"It's seems, even when he knows I can hurt you , he still sends threats to me, this is just to show him that I run the show, and things will be done when I say!"
The kids' growls got louder and were getting riled up.Anthony grinned at the sound, he was a sick monster.
I really focused for a second, and I called my wolf to the front, she was but not enough for Anthony to see her, but was at the ready.
"Have fun kids." he said and the kids ran at me, I braced myself but when they tore into my skin I still screamed, teeth and claws ripped my skin, as Anthony closed the door behind him, I really pushed my power now just with the fear that these would kill me, for a moment it seemed liked nothing was happening, but then the room was filled with sadness. Some of the kids whimpered and scurried away from me, I sat up. My wounds slowly healing.
I was breathing heavy, as I waited for Anthony to come running back in, but he never came. Then I pushed all of my power out toward them, the kids all curled up in fear of who they sensed.
"You know who I am, I am your Luna!"
"Luna." they echoed and then I remembered my fathers lullaby, and I sang it. Soon one by one they all dropped into a deep sleep. Then the sound of foot steps came and I quickly got to my wobbly feet. It was Jack, he had a far away look in his eyes, I pushed a command toward him, he opened the door and came to unchain me, I could feel his fear for Anthony, but I could see his wolf in control.
"Luna." he said as he knelt in front of me and bared his neck to me.
"Stay and guard the kids."
He nodded and I walked past him, as I slowly made my way up the stairs. Then I felt him, I felt Alexander he wasn't too far away. I needed to get out of here.
(Alexander's POV)
My guess was that the message had arrived like I thought it would, there were fire pits set around a open piece of ground like for a fighting arena, we walked in alert and ready.
"Alexander, welcome!"
I knew that voice, and when I turned the face matched the voice.
"You're dead." said Ben.
"If that's the case then, a ghost is what stands in front of you all....Boo."
He laughed at his own joke, Anthony had been my father's second, he had wanted to over throw my father as Alpha and had a very dark idea of what our power could be used for, I had also heard rumors that he had tried to court Suzanne, her father had laughed at Anthony. The messed up part was that his wife had been sick and dying, she had gotten deathly ill.
Jason, must've brought his father and his sister back, but Anthony seemed different, I mean he was a little crazy but there was something else...I just couldn't put my finger on it.
Then he suddenly swung his arm a little too hard and it went flying toward us. It sat in the middle of us all.
"Jon, tell Beth we need her and to bring a zombie spell." I mind linked Jon. He glanced at me and called to Beth.
"Looks like you're falling apart already, Anthony, you are dead, you just haven't accepted it yet."
"Once I eat, you and your little mate, I'll be immortal!" He said coming to where his arm was and put it back on.
He licked his lips, and seemed to remember something.
"She's so sweet, I've never tasted something as sweet."
My insides churned, what had he done to, Elizabeth?
"Where is she!?"
"Oh, don't worry the kids are keeping her company, and having a bite with her."
I didn't like how he said those words, I looked toward the house, ironic this was the same place Jason had died, and it was the place I was going to kill him. I moved toward the house, and a couple of wolves blocked my way.
"Tsk tsk tsk, That's not how it works boy, if you beat me, then... just maybe you'll see your mate again, or maybe you'll be buried somewhere out here in an unmarked grave."
I wanted to laugh he was falling apart, I probably could take him, but if he really was a zombie, then how was I going to kill him. I took my shirt off and handed it to Ben.
He just nodded to me and I to him, we knew this could be bad. Then walked toward the center of the arena, Anthony too took his shirt off, but you could see little areas where he was missing skin, my guess was he'd been up and about for a while, it was finally catching up with him. He came at me, the man still had force in his punches, we went at each other for a while landing blows and kicks on each other, then I felt something, it was like a warm hug, a soft embrace. We all turned and found two wolves walking toward us and right behind them was Elizabeth, she seemed to glow slightly. Her power poured toward us, and you just wanted to bow down to her, her pure blood Luna power.
She walked toward Anthony who was on his knees, almost like what happens when humans are in the presence of an angel, her light and power just brought that kind of comfort. She walked right up to him, and he was just in awe.
"Rest, Anthony, be at peace, just close your eyes and let go."
"Luna." he said breathlessly wanting to touch her, but he suddenly seemed to crumble. He shook for a minute for a moment and was still.
I looked at my mate, feeling a little breathless myself, I had always known she was beautiful, but right now I felt blessed. She walked toward me and then the force of her power slowly ebbed away, and she dropped into my arms, she was shaking.
"Took a lot more then I thought."
"That's okay, I got you."
She huffed a small laugh and then was out like a light.
(Elizabeth's POV)
I was laying in warm sheets, with Alexander's scent surrounding me, but also I wasn't alone in the bed. I looked around and found all the kids in the bed with me, I looked around but didn't find Alexander. Before I could worry, he sent me a thought, he was cleaning up and looking to see if there was anyone else running around. He'd be home once he was done, so I cuddled next to Eden and fell back to sleep.
Then next morning Alexander told me, they had found the kids in the basement, they woke up not remembering anything but the last place and thing they'd been doing. Coming out of school, or shopping with friends, or just hanging at home. Beth looked them over as did Rafael, their wolves in a type of hibernation, the kids still feeling the strength, speed, and hunger, but otherwise they didn't have the need to phase. The threat was gone, and somehow I had fixed them.
We took the kids back to their homes and those that didn't really have homes, they decided to stay with us. Alexander and I went to talk to those parents and just like Beth told us, one was so knocked up on drugs, he never noticed his daughter was gone, and the other had an abusive home. The others went back to their families.
Aaron, one morning had his room cleaned and the sheets put away, when I walked into his room.
"What are you up to?" I asked sitting on the bed, he was looking at a picture of when he was younger, with Alexander. He sighed and put the picture back.
"What's Alexander's plan for me?" he asked in a sad tone, I was stumped.
"What do you mean?"
"Where's he going to send me, or is he going to excile me from the pack?"
I understood, and grinned. I looked up at him, but he was serious, I got up and went over to him.
"Bud, it was never a question where you were going to stay."
"But with everything I did...and how..."
I pulled him into a hug, and he seemed to relax greatly.
"Alexander is your father, bud, he loves you even if you two don't share blood, and I love you too, this is your home."
He looked up at me with tears in his eyes.
"You were hurt because of me..."
"Aaron, I'm alive and that's all that matters, okay?"
He nodded and I hugged him again, I happen to look toward the door and found Alexander leaning in the door frame. He let me know Cora was leaving and she wanted to say goodbye. I nodded and kissed Aaron on the head as he looked up at me.
"You're not going anywhere, so take that thought out of your mind."
"Okay."
With that, I left him and headed out to say good bye to Cora. It was still pretty light out even if it was seven-thirty, but it was the summer. Beth had blessed Cora's ring for a few hours to head back home, in the sun, so she was standing in the sun just like any other human. She seemed to take in the warmth, until she heard me walking toward her. Then she turned to face me.
"Liz, I just wanted to thank you for welcoming us in your home."
"I hope you got what you needed from us?"
"That and much more."
I smiled, but nodded.
"Were you ever worried?"
"I guess in the back of my mind I knew but then again when you came I wasn't in the best place with Alexander."
"I have tried in the past, Liz, you will never find a man as loyal as Alexander, I can say I envy you, any woman would, when a man looks and treats a woman the way he does you, there's no question, he adores you."
"Thank you, when he's in a room no one compares either."
She grinned, my guess was when her guard tried to seduce me and failed.
"Goodbye, Liz."she said and put out her hand toward me, which I took and shook.
"Safe trip."
She nodded and I nodded at her guards, the male winking at me, I rolled my eyes, and they headed toward our border. I watched until they were specks.
"Leeches finally gone?" I turned and found my brother, Rafael walking toward me, and just remembered I wanted to talk to him.
"Yeah."
He came to stand next to me, his eyes heavy on me.
"Did grandpa try to marry us together?"
He grinned but it was a cringing grin, but nodded still looking at me.
"Yeah...yeah he did try?"
"Is that why Dad ran away with me?"
"Yeah...he wanted you to be happy."
I took a deep breath, and remembered back to when I first met my brother, it was gross to think I was raised not to look at my siblings in any other way but as that, my siblings, but what I saw in Rafael's eys had been a mix of lust and wonder.
"Lizzy, when I first saw you was the day you were born, and I swore to Dad that was what you were to me, my sister, my baby sister, now I found Emma and realize it's nothing close to what I could've felt toward you."
I huffed a laugh, somehow that was what gave me comfort, but it just made me sick, that my grandfather was the way he was. I turned and gave my brother a hug, he hugged me back.
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"Everything."
He pulled back and kissed my forehead.
"Any time kid."
With that he walked away and headed back home.
