“Sweetie” Pa says and he is caressing the top of my head, just the way I wished Frederick Pike had done it when I was a child. Joseph Tannenbaum loves me more than that man did in his whole life.
I wiped away my tears and looked at him.
“He …he cheated on me, Pa” I say in a whisper and thinking about it a horrible thought comes into my mind.
“What if?” I whisper…”What if he never loved me? What if it was just about the revenge he was looking for when I came here?” and that got Pa perplexed.
“WHAT REVENGE?” he growled and I swear to you that his growl seemed one of a werewolf not a human one.
“That scoundrel wanted to make Jane pay for dumping him years ago,” Sammy says. “If this was his plan from the beginning I will cut his bal..”
