Evangeline "Adeline!" I called out as I stumbled back a step when a burst of pure energy exploded. It looked like an angel of fire suddenly emerged from deep within her, and spread its wings. Adeline glowed with an unearthly light, nearly blinding me. I could see her behind the dancing flames that slithered across her body. Her eyes were open, but only bright gold light shone from them.
