“Please… please don’t kill me!” the man cried, his voice shaking with fear. Blood covered his face as he struggled to breathe.
“I swear it wasn’t me! I would never betray you… Zayn… the god of the mafia. Please… spare my life!”
His desperate voice echoed through the dark room.
Standing before him, Zayn watched silently, a faint dangerous smile resting on his lips. The metal weapon wrapped around his hand, lined with sharp thorns, was stained with blood.
Drops of blood slowly slid down his hand and fell onto the floor.
Tap… tap… tap…
“Boss… believe me,” the man begged again. “I didn’t give any insider information to the Crimson Vipers. I swear!”
Zayn stepped closer, his expression calm yet terrifying. Slowly, he lifted the gun in his hand and lightly patted it against the man’s head.
“Don’t you know,” Zayn said coldly, “the only punishment for betrayal here… is death.”
“In my world, trust is everything,” Zayn continued quietly.
“And betrayal… is the last mistake anyone makes.”
At that moment, the door suddenly opened.
“Zayn, your mom is calling,” said Rex, his right-hand man. “She says it’s important.”
Zayn sighed in irritation.
“What the hell… not again,” he muttered. “Looks like she’s going to say the same thing again.”
With a careless motion, he tossed the gun toward Rex.
“Handle this man,” Zayn said coolly before walking out of the room.
---
A few minutes later, Zayn answered the call.
On the other side was Selena, the CEO of Selena Lux Group, one of the richest companies in Valencia.
“Mom, what do you want?” Zayn said impatiently. “I don’t have time. Say it quickly.”
“Zayn, you’re already twenty-eight,” Selena replied. “What about Natasha?”
“You know she has been waiting for your answer for three years now. She’s beautiful, famous, and admired across Valencia. She’s perfect for you.”
“Why are you still not giving her an answer?” Selena continued.
“Or… are you not interested in women? Don’t tell me you’re attracted to the same gender.”
Zayn frowned.
“What do you mean, Mom? Are you asking if I’m gay?”
“Mom, stop this nonsense,” he said. “I have work. I’m leaving.”
Selena’s voice turned strict.
“What work do you have? Fighting people? Black-marketing weapons?”
“I want you to handle the company,” she said angrily.
Zayn’s voice became colder.
“I’m not interested in your company. And I don’t want a single penny from it.”
“If you want someone to manage it, ask Aziel.”
Aziel was Zayn’s younger brother, twenty-three years old.
Selena sighed.
“Are you out of your mind? You’re the elder one. Besides, Aziel is already helping with the company. He’s responsible and disciplined.”

Meanwhile, across the city…
Inside her office, Lina studied the investigation file carefully. As she flipped through the pages, a crime scene photograph caught her attention.
It showed the victim’s house — the place where the girl had last been seen before the attack.
Lina leaned closer.
On the victim’s wrist was a club entry stamp.
“Ayla,” Lina called. “Come here… look at this.”
Ayla leaned over the desk.
“This stamp,” Lina said, pointing at the photograph, “it’s from a nightclub.”
---
Later that night, Lina and Ayla visited the club.
After questioning several people, a bartender finally spoke.
“Yeah… I remember those three guys,” he said. “They used to come here almost every night.”
“They were loud… always causing trouble. Most people avoided them.”
“But after that incident… they suddenly stopped coming.”
Hours passed with no new information.
Tired and frustrated, Lina and Ayla stepped out of the club.
Just as they were about to leave, a young woman approached them.
“Um… excuse me,” she said thoughtfully.
“I’m not completely sure,” the girl continued, “but I think I’ve seen the guys you’re talking about.”
“You know them?” Lina asked.
“I used to see them here all the time,” the girl said. “They were always loud and negative.”
“But after that night… they stopped coming.”
Lina exchanged a glance with Ayla.
“And?” Lina asked.
“Oh right,” the girl said suddenly.
“The night before they disappeared, I overheard them talking.”
“They said they were leaving the city.”
“Leaving where?” Lina asked quickly.
“I think… they said Valencia.”
---
Since it was already late at night, Lina and Ayla decided not to waste any more time.
“If those guys really went to Valencia, we need to move fast,” Lina said.
Ayla nodded. “First flight tomorrow morning.”
Lina took out her phone and called her younger sister, Elena.
“Elena, I need to leave for Valencia for a few days. Stay in the dorm at the university until I come back, okay?”
“Did something happen?” Elena asked.
“Just work,” Lina replied. “Don’t worry. I’ll be back after solving the case.”
After ending the call, Lina looked at Ayla.
“Looks like Valencia is our next stop.”
Before the Next Chapter.....
