Chapter Twenty-Five
Matthew opened the door and lifted his weapon, it was dark inside the apartment, so he pulled out a small flashlight he had with him. He walked into the apartment and slowly moved the small light around until it illuminated something in the middle of the room. It took Matthew a moment to realize who he was looking at, but when he realized it was Samantha, he rushed towards her. Without thinking he dropped the flashlight and his weapon; he pulled the blindfold down so she could see. Sam cried at the sight of her father; he gently removed the tape from her mouth so she could speak. Unfortunately, the reunion was short-lived, William stepped out from the shadows and closed the door. Before Matthew could react and grab his weapon, William pulled out a taser and fired at the detective. He went
