3. ISABEL!

ISABEL’S POV “Do you know what this is all about?” I asked Lucinda as we followed Maggie to the field. “I honestly don’t know,” She mumbled. “Do you think that she knows?” I was very insecure. Cheating is difficult. I swear, it is not easy living your life thinking that you might get caught any time. I know I should not have placed myself in this position but it already happened and I cannot come out of it right now. What done is done, I have already walked down that horrible road. “Honestly, I don’t know Isabel. Anyway, stay calm, if you keep asking me and acting nervous, then she will notice this and get to know of your affair with Eric eventually.” Lucinda warned me. “Shh! Do not mention his name,” This secret should never come out. Not now, not forever. I am not yet ready to lose my best friend Maggie. “Alright,” Lucinda rolled her eyes and we walked silently till we got to the middle of the field. Veronica and Becca were already waiting for us. They were close by when Maggie texted them. “Hey, what is this all about, you have scared us,” Becks told Maggie who had not mentioned anything to us yet. “Shut up,” Maggie wanted her to stop. She was going to tell us what this is all about. We needed not to pester her. “Okay, start with the meeting already,” Ronnie told Maggie. “This is really an impromptu meeting, I think you should tell us what this is all about right away because we don’t know what to think,” I said this speaking of myself. I really wanted to know what she had in mind. “Calm down squad. You all like talking a lot. I called you here because I missed all of you.” Maggie broke her silence and we all jeered. “I am serious guys, when is the last time we had a group sleepover?” Maggie asked us. The last sleep over was at Lucinda’s place, that was two months ago. She was right, that was a pretty long time. As best of friends, we needed to meet us as often as possible. “You are right,” Lucinda sighed. “It has truly been long since we bonded,” Ronnie agreed. “That is why I called this meeting, I want us to organise something to strengthen our bond,” Maggie explained and I sighed heavily. That was close! I almost thought that she had found out that I was sleeping with her boyfriend. “What did you say?” Maggie turned to look at me and that is when I realized that I had thought out loud. “I said that was close to what I had been thinking, I want us to go for a staycation out of town.” Well, I said this in my defense. If I knew that this is what will tear us apart, then I would never ever have come up with that suggestion. “That is extreme but at the same time a good idea. I had not thought of that before,” Maggie seconded. “Me too, all I ever think of is sleep overs, staycation is really great.” Becks agreed with me. That is a nice idea, honestly, I am happy that I come up with it. “Plus, going to Hidden Ville Town, is like three hour drive away, you know what that means?” Ronnie asked us and we were excited. “Yes! A road trip,” We were so happy. We loved road trips and this was really an awesome experience. “When should we go?” Lucinda asked. “This weekend is fine, we need to catch up,” Maggie insisted and no one was in objection. “This weekend it is then,” I agreed and everyone agreed. I wish we knew what was going to happen, if we did, then no one would agree to my suggestion. Anyway, we were just teenagers, trying to explore, we didn’t think that, that could cost us so much. We were not in the know. “Is there anything else?” Lucinda asked the team. “You all are my sisters and I want to share this with you. As I always say, let us be here for each other. Let us not hide things from each other,” Maggie’s voice was low and we knew that something was wrong somewhere. “Is everything alright Maggie?” Ronnie asked her. “Well, I wish I could lie that everything was fine but honestly, nothing is fine. Things are not fine. Eric is cheating on me,” She spilled the beans and my heart started beating twice the normal speed. Lucinda threw me a glance and I knew I had to speak up or else someone will suspect something. “Don’t say something as big as that,” I warned. “I was also in denial at first but right now, I am sure. Eric is cheating on me and I don’t know what to do,” Maggie started crying and I was guilty for what I am doing to my best friend. “Don’t cry Maggie, everything will be okay. We are your sisters, we will always be here for you,” Lucinda assured her as she hugged her. The rest of us joined in hugging her and it ended up being a group hug. “It really hurts, I love that man with my everything,” Maggie confessed. “Calm down, everything will be okay,” Becks told her and I was lost in thoughts. Why am I really doing this? Why did I allow myself to be in this position? I failed her, I really did. I knew that she loved Eric so much yet I went ahead to have an affair with him. The bell rang and we broke apart. We needed to go for recess. Maggie pulled herself together and stopped crying. Becks and Ronnie left, same to Lucinda and I was left with her. “I am sorry, I did not tell you first before telling the rest of them,” Maggie and I are very close, we were friends way before we met the rest of them. “No problem, I am sorry for what you are going through,” I was really sorry that I was doing this to her. “I just wish that he was an honest person, you know,” She confided in me. “Maggie, come to think of it, he does not deserve you. He is cheating, don’t you think that you should break up with him?” I just said this. “Break up?” She arched her eyebrows up in confusion. “Yes, he doesn’t deserve you,” I insisted what I had just stated earlier. “Come on Isabel, which is too extreme. I can’t break up with him. I love him so much,” She confessed. “But Maggie, he is cheating, that means that he doesn’t love you,” I mumbled. “I love Eric so much. My love for him will never end. I just have to find out the b***h she is cheating with and face her to leave my man alone. I can’t lose Eric, I love him so much,” She explained. “That is f****d up,” I shrugged. “Isabel, do you remember when Ran broke up with you. Was it easy for you to move on from him?” Maggie reminded me of my nightmare. “No,” I recalled. “It is the same thing, I love Eric and all I have to do is to find out that stupid b***h who wants to steal my man from me,” Maggie swore. “I see,” “Will you help me find her?” Maggie asked me. “Me?” How am I going to find myself? “Yes you, are you in?” She asked. “Do I have a choice?” “Of course not. Isabel, you will help me find the w***e Eric is cheating with,” Maggie requested me. "Um-" I didn't know if this was the right decision. "Please, pretty please," Maggie begged. "Of course," I forced a smile to hide my guilt. Fuck! This is really going to be difficult. I am the girl his boyfriend is cheating with. Maybe I will use this chance to blind her even more... I will do all it takes...
