Betrothed to the Mafia heir

Chapter 014

Vivienne had been restless ever since her daughter was kidnapped. It was already two days and she was worried about how her daughter had been fairing.

Funny enough, she had the feeling that her daughter wouldn't be mistreated by Draco.

Although she missed Lorna, she knew there was nothing she could do about it. It was her fault and that of her late husband .

If only they knew this would happen now!

Suddenly, an idea came to her mind. Having known Juan, her ex then, she concluded that he wasn't even a middle class citizen. The short discussion they had the last time made her understand that Juan was very wealthy and he had become a widower, although his only son was married.

He exerted power in the way he spoke and even his presence. She'd thought he was one of the politicians of the country, but he debunked the thought.

However, she did notice the glint in his eyes while they talked. She observed his body language during the little time they spent, but she refused to come to terms with what her mind signaled to her. They were no longer teens or adolescents.

Still, she decided to pay him a visit. Perhaps, he might be of help to her.

Don Juan laughed out loud at the response of the young man kneeling before him. Somehow, he had managed to lure one of Draco's men into his mansion. At first, it was a bit difficult but he played his game as the old player!

He had gotten information from his undercover agent that Ray's betrothal had been brought into Draco's villa. He also got the information that the young lady in question wasn't interested in the marriage, likewise his son. Such a thing would surely bring a setback to Draco's mafia group.

He sneered at the young man and walking around him, he growled:

"You have only three days to respond positively to this ! And if you refuse, it would no longer become a request , trust me. Your job is to do what I say in that compound and bring me feedback. I'll pay you eighty thousand dollars every week. "

That, of course, was a sweet offer.

What Draco paid his men was salary, monthly pays and never weekly. The amount was a hundred thousand dollars per month.

However, the guy muttered;

"I'll never betray my boss, not for someone like you ".

Don Juan's men moved to attack him for his display of guts before their boss, but he restricted them.

Laughing out loud, he said to the guy;

"Unfortunately, you're going to do it. I have spies around Draco's villa, yet no one knows and they're getting paid for just some outside information. But you, you're going to be my informant from within. Three days is what you have, or I'll employ your dearest younger brother ".

He motioned him to stand up and he did.

The guy was visibly shocked by how he knew he had a younger brother and who he was too.

He must confess that the man was really more powerful than his boss, but Draco was wiser, richer and smarter than Juan.

Avoiding Don Juan's eye contact and clenching his jaw, he moved towards the exit door to leave.

"You should be able to explain your absence to your damn boss" came the Don's voice.

He hesitated and then left.

Right in front of Don's huge gate, he concluded to do his bidding, though with difficulty. He had to protect his only brother who was in college from the dangers of the Mafia world, not when he didn't know that he was working for Draco.

Lorna's POV :

I was trying to adapt to the place within the three days I'd stayed in Draco's villa, but it couldn't work.

It gets uncomfortable in the villa, especially when Ray is around.

On this particular evening , Ray had gone to "God-knows where " and Draco and his men had gone for a meeting with some very fierce looking men that visited the villa.

These men came as if I was the reason for their visit. I heard their whispers and watched their eye movement when Draco called me to the living area.

It seemed they were looking into me and trying to monitor me within an hour....it was really scary.

I was left alone in the villa with just the maidservants and domestic staff.

I decided to stroll around the premises. I'd actually planned to escape, but the security at the high gates and environs were so tight .

I walked past the kitchen and my eyes met that of the chef. She quickly looked aside, as if being scared or something.

Out of curiosity, I entered and was extremely wowed at the sight of the kitchen.

The other two maid servants bowed and greeted me. I was a bit embarrassed....what did they think I am! Their young master's wife?

Feeling irritated, I said;

"Can you please stop that? It's making me uncomfortable ".

"Sorry ma'am " they replied.

Ma'am?! I simply exhaled, lacking the strength to tell them not to call me that.

"Uhmm, I'm bored actually and I decided to take a walk around here. But since you guys are here, I can join in the cooking right?"

Without wasting time, they replied at once;

"No Mistress , you can't. We would be punished if the boss comes back and finds you here ". I was astonished and it dawned on me that Draco had asked them to do these things and probably show me respect.

However, I understood what he was trying to do. Perhaps, he wanted me to feel at home and get used to the fact that I'd become the wife to the mafia heir. I wasn't going to buy that and while I was still trying to help the chef, she quivered and pleaded for me not to join her.

She looked older than me , like my mom's age and I wondered why she was working for Draco.

Respectfully, I left the kitchen .

I decided that I was going to speak to Draco when he returned. At least, as he was trying to be nice, I could play along.

I walked to the back of the villa, feeding my eyes with the arts, sculptures and of course the beautiful garden .

At some point, a small building caught my attention. It was situated at the back of the garden. The exterior looked old and I wondered if someone lived there with us...

I walked to the building and noticed a piece of cardboard in front of the wooden door .

It had the inscription;

OUT OF BOUNDS,

RAY.

Curiosity got the better part of me at that instant and I motioned to open the unlocked door .
